If you need to see the Dr for an eye exam, then yes. If you already have a valid prescription and just want to order glasses, no, you can walk in any time.

how much is it to get a glasses prescription? I need new glasses but do not know my eye prescription

It's $65 for an eye exam with no insurance. Contact lens fitting is an additional $35,$45 or $55 depending on the prescription. You will need an appointment to see the Dr.
