Beware! β οΈ Go somewhere else. Please save your tears. π’π βThe backsplash behind the sink fell off within MONTHS and I had to REPURCHASE π΅π΅ my countertops somewhere else. This was after we explained to them that we had had to do an insurance claim because of a leak under the sink, and make sure it's especially secure behind the sink. They said we had to keep the area they had sealed it dry... around the sink! They left the caulk they used so that we could do "touch-ups if needed," and it says don't use in high moisture areas! It's bad enough they left us to finish their work, but it wasn't even the right caulk for the job. βThey couldn't do the shapes that major companies could do because they "don't have a machine and have to do it by hand". The top surface was too wide and left a cutting edge (something we'd never felt before on any countertop we'd ever experienced). They came out and chiseled the edge off, leaving scuffs along the ENTIRE edge. βWe complained after their attempt to fix it made it worse, so they said our options were to knock off 350$ or have them replace it. They should have taken it back and given us a refund. We didn't want to have them do anymore shoddy work, so we opted for the discount. But after the backsplash disconnected, we had to repurchase π΅π΅ the countertops from Home Depot instead. Plus, when we said we wanted the partial refund, they tried to say they had only offered us 300$... just wow. βWe were told that the countertop couldn't be screwed down so they would only be able to glue it. There was one corner where the surface wasn't entirely attached next to the stove, and it could be pulled up with your fingernail. (We've never seen that before either.) We asked them to secure it when they were out to chisel the edge, and they never addressed it. When we had the countertop removed to be replaced by Home Depot, that corner was the only spot that was screwed down (HD workers literally just pulled the Spielmaker's countertops off with one heave except that 1 screw). I think THAT'S why they couldn't screw it down: the screws were causing the countertop to break. βWhen the countertop was replaced by Home Depot, we noticed how much sturdier the new countertop felt. The new countertop from Home Depot is definitely higher quality material (please note that we reordered the same exact style top when we went through HD). But we're not certain if the reason it feels sturdier is because of the firmer countertop or the fact that Home Depot was able to screw theirs down. β(UPDATE:Β We have reached out to Spielmaker the same day they commented and we have still not received a follow-up 9/30/22.)
