Went for a fishing trip and tent camped there- March 12th 2022 About the recreation area- bathrooms couldn't have soap or PT due to theft. Bathrooms had no hot water, and water from a possible leak under toilets was there(we stayed there 3 days). These "Comfort stations" that included showers were either broken, or not working/shutoff. Campsite- accessible water(which should be(somewhere) at these car camping locations for state parks) was not found and we used an RV spicket that people typically rent out. Site was the usual with a bench, fire ring, and a grill. Immediately by a marina cove and public boat ramp. Saw park ranger drive around a couple times. The whole area(from traveling to areas around this lake) I assume has not a lot of trash service because there is trash all along the highways, on the sides of the lakes(and our campsite). Has a swim area by the dam. Travelok is not as user friendly as it should be to use for reserving sites.

Beautiful scenery. The dam is under construction so you can't cross. The state park is clean. Nice place to spend the day.

Not the best place to be over Memorial Day weekend. We camped to enjoy the lake and rented a slip at Cedar Point Marina which was great. The campsite... not so great. The bathrooms were in a perpetual state of disgusting with a measly two-rolls of toilet paper per day allocated. The beach was packed with people, which was fine, but all of them were using the bathrooms. The park needed to respond to the high demand with more frequent cleanings and much more toilet paper and cleaning. The Area does have a boat ramp but better get there early and leave late if you have a decent-sized boat because parking is a joke. No way would could have launched or recovered our 24' boat in the middle of the day because of all the trucks with boat trailers parked where they shouldn't have been. If we didn't have a slip we'd have been in trouble. The showers at this campsite are pay-per-minute so be sure to bring quarters or you won't be able to shower. The nearby offroad park meant a constant stream of loud offroad rigs, tons of dust, and LOTS of people getting nabbed by the cops. The road on the dam coming from the west is NARROW. There is hardly 6" on either side of a trailer when pulling. If you're not careful and slow you'll either drag on the bridge or hit an oncoming car. Better hope the people coming with their trucks and trailers are paying attention! If we do ever come back to this campsite, it certainly won't be during a holiday weekend.
