I Love Humbolt Park. It is the closest thing to Central Park that we have here in Chicago. Some of its features include a huge rose garden, swimming area, multiple playgrounds with water features, natural preserved nature areas, fishing access, a lake and plenty of streams. You can drive around or there are plenty of walking paths. You can rent a paddle boat (big swan) or 4 person bikes. New Street soccer field as well.

It's a nice place to visit, bike ride or stroll. It's changed in the past 10 years. The area is up and coming with new owners and businesses.

I believe so. There are tents around a campfire on the Northside of the park with beautiful views of the trees and near a children's playground and basketball court. And I think it is free
Contact Jesus the park supervisor for a permit. No gazebo but plenty of beautiful spots for a family gathering.
