I was receiving a shiatsu treatment in student clinic. Lying on my back, my practitioner, a young woman, lifted my right foot, placed it against her stomach and gave a gentle shove. My right toe which is often stiff, relaxed and I let out a sigh. In fact several times during this session, I sighed and started breathing easier. It made me wonder how long I'd been holding my breath and why. Over the course of another session with this student and subsequent sessions with other students, this pattern of sighing and then breathing easier repeated itself. And last night it happened again. This is no longer just a coincidence or a casual observation. It's a big deal to be aware of the fact that I've been holding my breath all of my life. When I left the premises last night, and walked to the train, I felt limp. I felt softer and kinder than I 've felt before. Also sad that it took so long to get here, stunned at how it feels to be so limp, grateful to these generous shiatsu students who have brought me to this oasis, and maybe a bit giddy about what lies ahead with this new power I've been gifted with.

I say this very sincerely that mere words cannot express the multitude of positive feelings one has upon entering Zen Shiatsu Chicago. Aside from the actual space being gorgeous and most welcoming, the staff and practitioners are caring, intelligent and quite gifted in their art. You will be hard-pressed to find a better healing experience than at Zen Shiatsu Chicago.

I love the Zen Shiatsu place. I did several refferals to your clinic.

I am a student there and I believe all their courses are accredited by more than one organization. It might say on their web site. They also have a great email with all the course information. And I’m sure if you call between 10-5 they could also confirm that for you.
Student Clinic is done in a group setting on Tuesday evenings. Cost is $35/ plus a one page feedback form for a 40-45 min supervised treatment. Appointments must be booked and paid in advance.
It depends on your specific situation if you are a massage therapist some of your schooling is taken into account. The cost varies with the path you take. They have a loan program if needed. Give them a call and they can sit with you and go through all the options. They are very open and willing to work with you if this is something you want to do.
