Great question and one we receive often. We recommend changing your air filters every 90 days. If anyone in your home has allergies or are sensitive to dust/pollen, every 45 days would be better.
On average, your air conditioner should be serviced at least once a year, usually during the spring season. This way you can ensure your AC is ready to go when the warm weather hits.
Yes we do! Pipe Wrench provides all kinds of commercial plumbing services to Knoxville-area businesses, including backflow device repair, grease trap cleaning, sewer and drain services, commercial water heater services, and more. Give us a call to request a same-day appointment!
Yes we do! In fact, we guarantee a same-day appointment or the visit is free. If you have a plumbing emergency that needs immediate attention, please give us a call now at (865) 518-7008.
Of course, just call for service questions.
That depends on where the water is leaking from. Are you noticing the leak from the temperature and pressure relief (T&P) valve, drain valve, or from an outlet pipe connection? In these cases, your water heater most likely is repairable. If, however, your water heater is leaking from the bottom, chances are the tank is too corroded from sediment buildup to be fixed. Water heater leaks can cause a lot of costly water damage if left untended, so be sure to call a plumber as soon as you notice a problem. Pipe Wrench can help you decide whether to repair or replace your hot water heater.
No, ma'am, I apologize that we do not offer that service. All our service is related to Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. Thank you so much for your interest, however! We would suggest looking under "small engine repair" and "lawn mower repair" on the Better Business Bureau site, for a reputable company.
It is generally recommended that a carbon monoxide detector be placed in all major living areas of the home, such as kitchen, dining room, living area, office and bedrooms. Thank you for your question!
Thank you for your question! As a general rule, it's best to avoid using Drano or other chemical drain cleaners to clear drain clogs. These are highly corrosive substances, which is great for eating up clogs, but used enough, they can also eat through older pipes or cause problems with plastic pipes. Plus, these products aren't great for the environment or for septic systems. Chemical drain cleaners are only a temporary fix to what is often a larger problem that should be addressed by a professional plumber.
Thank you for your question! When water is heated, it expands and takes up more room in your tank, which can result in excess pressure that needs to be released somehow. Expansion tanks are designed to handle this thermal expansion and relieve excessive water pressure in your plumbing system, which can lead to damage. If you have noticed leaking from the relief valve on your water heater, or you have noticed rapid deterioration of washers in your plumbing fixtures, give us a call to see whether adding an expansion tank can help you!
Jamie, Mattgyver Gibson is correct! A gas tankless water heater is definitely the way to go. Hot water on demand, all day (and night) long! For more information, you can reach out to Pipe Wrench Plumbing to get a free estimate. They are fast and are real pros in installation.
