Been coming here every chance I get for the last 6 years. It's an amazing campground with little to no people to deal with (at least the times I've been.) Everytime I'm here I find more to love about it. The weather the foliage and the wild life. I've seen black bear, deer and a Bald Eagle throughout the years of visiting thos campground. There's also a cool hiking trail down the road a bit Beaver Lodge Trail its a good moderate 1mile ish hike round trip with fantastic views of all sorts of nature.

Arguably the best campground in the Ottawa Forest if not the entire UP (although nearby Norway Lake Campground does come really close). Worth the $28 i paid to come thru on Memorial Weekend 2019. The sites by the lake are amazing, although even if you do not get one on the lake, the inland ones are just fine. Lots of firewood laying around, the absolute darkest skies in the Ottawa Forest (though do come on a new moon, and the northern lights are indeed visible here), and its just super pristine. However, yes there are a ton of skeeters but with fogger and decent spray, i didnt get one bite on me. Also, the frogs/birds/whatever have you do get extremely loud at night and so sleeping decently in a tent could be hard. Also, the 4-mile gravel road to get here can be super rocky, and after a heavy rain could possibly get your car stuck in the mud, so be very careful if coming in a front-wheel drive sedan like i did. All in all, recommend if you want a very peaceful place to spend a weekend here. Worth the 6 hour drive.

Remote and spectacular campground, quiet and peaceful. We went at the beginning of June during the week and saw no fellow campers, a fisherman here and there and what seemed like every Mosquito in the northern hemisphere, we were prepared but they can be overwhelming. Doesn't distract from how beautiful this place is !

Great small campground on a beautiful lake. Sites were well maintained and the "bathrooms" were surprisingly clean. Stayed in late May and the bugs were terrible, so beware and bring lots of bug repellent.
