What an amazing place and atmosphere and what a disappointment was the food and hospitality! Our dinner reservation was at 6:00pm and upon checking with the hostess at 5:50, we were told in an inhospitable fashion that we will only be seated at 6;00 sharp although the place was literally empty. The shallot butter and the Yorkshire pudding were the only acceptable dishes and anything else was mediocre! The escargot was so bland one could easily confuse it with mushrooms! The mousse de foie gras was more like a duck fat spread on a bread! The grilled octopus had literally no flavour but the charred particles clinging onto the flesh! And the grand finale was with the Boeuf bourguinion that was so salty that we basically had to wash our mouths to get rid of the bitterness and after taste of post war kind of meat! The waitress was pleasant but didn’t bother asking us why the bourguinion was left “untouched “ and so was the octopus. Such a shame and please don’t even call it “French Cuisine”.. that would elevate the expectations and this restaurant can be classified as a pub food rather than a gourmet French restaurant.

Expensive but it was a unique experience with the botanical gardens and the cafe. We had peacocks just walk over to us when we were drinking coffee!

My husband and I had reservations to the Rat's Restaurant recently for our anniversary. We had to wait 30 mins to be seated, it was very busy. The food was mediocre, not really seasoned very well, but the presentation was nice. The alcoholic beverages were very good. I noticed other tables were acknowledged for their special event, however our anniversary was not acknowledged. I did fill out a form that specified I was celebrating an event. I was turned off by having to wait for a reserved table, and receiving food that wasn't very seasoned. However, it was a pleasant atmosphere overall.

Yes
It's based on the "wind in the willows" old children's books, like "mr. Toad's wild ride" at disneyland.
Only disability animals but not support dogs. They are not recognized by the ADA. Hope this helps!
Indoor and outdoor dining are both quite amazing
Yes! However, if you go on a cool night the heat lamps are mostly closet to the restaurants doors so I would suggest you request a table under a heat lamp
It is recommended since there is minimal seating at the moment.
It was extremely hot and humid last Saturday night when I was there, there was no ceiling fan in the area where we were seated and as an aside, it was very dark since it was not well lit. But otherwise, the food and drinks and service were great!

There's a door on the other side, so you can get in from another way than the park. Then you will have the view of the artist's bridge, garden and pond and wish you were there
$62 adults, $ children 5-12 11am to 5pm brunch
Easter brunch usually starts their spring menu/hours. This year it happens to land on the April First, no fooling.
Yes, very much so. The French fries are fantastic. If you go when it's warm the kids would enjoy watching the ducks and the fish. If you go into the grounds there are a lot of sculptures the young ones can touch. Go for it and have fun.
