We stay for 3 nights and cell service isn’t great. Host who was name Dawn was very nice. It’s an older campground but clean & quiet. Some people living in their RV but not a problem for us. Campers were friendly , yes I would recommend this park.

The park was beautiful and seemed very peaceful when we first arrived with all the tall trees and the river. But once we settled in, we walked through the park and there seem to be quite a few very old RV/travel trailer with a lot of junk around them. Walking down to the river you had to watch your step because not everyone cleans up after their dogs. The showers are very outdated and smelled very musty. We could not get their Wi-Fi to work due to no signal and didn’t sleep due to a dog barking and what sounded like someone beating on a camper door or wall all night. We felt somewhat uneasy at this park so chose to leave earlier in the morning than planned.

Dawn is very nice and helpful on the phone:) They offer TOUCHLESS CHECK-IN. When you walk up on the porch and turn to your right, your envelope with your reservation and instructions are right there. If you need something else, you can knock on the door of the office. Good Passport America price for our stay. This is an old campground right on Yellow River @45 miles north of Destin, FL. They're known for large, long, pull-thru sites with tall trees, shade, and fishing. I love the distance between these sites for peace and privacy. You don't hear road traffic either. There are a few barking dogs in the long-term section, but only one could be heard after dark for a while. Things to consider for your camping:: The sites are all dirt/sand. They get messy and flood after heavy rains. There is one small laundry room for all sites. Most sites are long term in the back so there's competition for a machine. The bathhouses are old, small, and smell a little musty but my husband found them clean and working (unlike some gulf states' state parks we've stayed in the past few months). Although we're here to visit a relative and see Destin beaches (they're beautiful), we're not too far away from Niceville where there are -4- breweries. That's my husband's passion to check out while traveling. There is a camper 'storage row' next to the overnighters' rows that are not pretty to look at, but certainly don't bother anyone. Another reviewer gave the campground a negative review for these as if the property was full of them. It is not. Most RVs in the park are well kept even if some are older models. We'd stay here again when passing through the Fla Panhandle. Attached are some pics below.

It would be a great campground if the cheap owner would make improvements. Raised the monthly rate but doesn’t put it toward anything except his pockets. For 80+ spots you have two washers and two dryers to work with, so good luck doing laundry. Want WiFi? Good luck with that too because they’re never in a hurry to get it hooked up. The owner also doesn’t care much about maintaining the roads. They’ve gotten slightly better but they’re still full of pot holes. If we didn’t have our dogs we would move to the campground up the road. I also noticed they got rid of one of the trash bins near the back of the campground. God forbid there’s an extra one to pay for I guess..

I have two pitbull mixes that I took there. No one questioned me about them, but I kept them on a leash.
Nasty manager she is awful
I like it there but heard the same. I kinda know her but she was not that bad. The crew as a whole are great to me. I think a lot of the issues come up because about 3/4 of the spots are long term stayers. I like it there and will go back.
There use to be a Paul that lived here but not anymore.. i would just call the park
The number is on the website. You don't need to be a computer geek to click on the link and see the number
45 minutes with normal traffic...
No public dumping. Only registered park guests/tenants allowed to dump.
There are technically 2 sites that the park has for nightly/weekly stays, both only have water and electric and no sewage (30&50 amp) The rest are permanent. Most of the park stays full year round and only has openings when someone leaves. Wait list is best option if looking to stay long term here.
Call the office number listed on the website during business hours. It's a single line so it may be hard to get someone when several calls are coming in. Be patient.
Yes and yes!
It's been under ownership by single owner for over 30+ years. Various managers and camp workers but only one owner.
Yes they have paperwork at the office door.
most of the spots do not have clear enough reception for antenna to pick up any channels at all. If you have your own cable service & satellite that's your best bet. They do have good wifi though.
If you mean water, sewer and electric yes they do with 30 or 50 amp
We are on the edge of the yellow river yet I'm not sure what the highest level is... I do know that the park flooded over 5 yrs ago yet didn't do any damage... So i honestly don't know...
