I had some sensitive materials that I needed to have shredded and I found Theis/Cornfeld Recycling Center online and decided to make the drive out; the center is about an hour from my home. When I got there, I went in the second entrance after the turn, as instructed by the signage, to enter the parking for shredding. I met a lovely gentlemen that worked there who gave a detailed run-down of how to sort my items to make for an easy trip. I plan to tackle my grandparents home and take all of their old magazines and papers to the recycling center later this month. One thing that I loved, is that if you’re a private person, you can actually make an appointment to bring in your sensitive documents for shredding, and you can actually watch them shred all of your documents. So glad that I found Theis/Cornfeld Recycling Center online. I’m referring all of my friends and family to take them up on the service.

Very helpful and friendly staff .they're also knowledgeable and will let you know if an item is not suitable for recycling, especially styrofoam and it's varieties. I'm hoping this service can generate a little revenue for the city and they can put some sort of roof over the recycling stations where the workers have to stand all day and provide them some protection from the elements.

They will take them if they are drained of fluids. I've seen them there many times. I'd rather see them fixed and resold than scrapped. If the piston and rod haven't left the block, and it's just hard starting or not starting, I'd fix it and sell it on so someone doesn't buy a new unit. Reuse is the best part of recycling.
That plastic is not recyclable.
No
They do not. The Rupert road transfer station takes 20lb propane tanks at $3 each.
White hard Styrofoam that snaps. Must be clean.
No
No ELECTRONICS of ANY kind are taken at Theis/Cornfeld Recycling Center.
I was there yesterday and shredding was not open yet
I think so, you might have to remove the plastic.Best to give them a call.
Yes
Shredding is closed temporarily due to Covid
I don't believe that they have the ability to recycle mattresses. The Salvation Army will pick them up if they are not stained.
Make an appointment I think
Yes, unless contaminated with food (e.g. oil from pizza cheese or sauce) or other contaminants (e.g., motor oil).
I'm not sure, you are best to call them. They do take a large variety of papers. They also do shredding.
Shredding is temporarily closed for the current time. Anything over one box you do need to make an appointment
It's open Wednesday to Saturday.
Yes...at the the Theis/Cornfield Center once it reopens.
I don't think so
Mon - Sat 9 to 4
No cinder blocks. No to the appliances unless they are half or more metal and no modern ones are.
No. The plastic is not recyclable.
I don't know. I would collect all your normal recycling and bring with. Ask them when you get there
And you have to remove all the rubber. Whatever a magnet sticks to is steel and they will take.
Yes, but you can't recycle it.
Call star disposal in Bethlehem.
Bethlehem city's website has information on how to dispose of oil based and latex paint. If you have a lot, search online for how to donate nearby.
They do not. Call your local trash pick up. You can also donate it. There's always a college student in need.
Old carpet qualifies as trash. Get rid of it as you would any large trash item.
No wood, tiles, or insulation is accepted. That is trash.
No
The soft styrofoam (egg cartons) clogs the recycling machine. Only styrofoam that "snaps" may be recycled here.
No
Definitely not the place for that.
I want to know do you recycle old laptops and flat screen tvs?
No.
See the website and call. There is only one shredder and it’s often busy. It’s best to call the office first.
Try Best Buy call them 1st
Not Styrofoam tape or the ones treated with that plastic that makes it bend. Only the breakable kind.
