My sister recommended Dr. Francis and his staff to me, and my first visit was such a pleasure. I had some staining/tartar that I was very concerned about, but Ceri got it all cleaned up for me and I had zero cavities! What a relief! My teeth look so much better. She's a miracle worker.

Would highly recommend to anyone asking! Dr. Francis is so kind and professional. He is great at what he does. I really appreciate his honesty- he never suggests work to be done that is not essential. Suri has been our dental hygienist and has amazing attention to detail. All of their staff is wonderful to work with!

I love Francis Dental. Dr. Francis has been my dentist since I was in high school. That 20+ years ago. Wouldn't go anywhere else!!!

Questions & Answers

Can I take my mask off now?

Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021
Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021

Once you are isolated from other patients, you sure can! It'd be really hard to do a cleaning with your mask on! Do bring a mask with you to wear while passing through our office. But once you've settled into your chair, you can remove your mask. If needed, please only bring one other person with you for your appointment.

What kind of toothbrush should I use?

Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021
Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021

We do recommend electric toothbrushes because they cover more ground in the same amount of time as a manual toothbrush. We prefer Sonicare electric toothbrushes. Most manual toothbrushes are about the same. If using a manual brush, be sure to use a soft head to keep your gums safe from hard bristles.

What kind of toothpaste should I use?

Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021

We recommend most general toothpastes you can buy at a traditional grocery store. Just be sure it has fluoride. For teeth with special needs, like sensitivity or prone to decay, give us a call for a special recommendation.

How much do you charge for nitrous oxide / laughing gas?

Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021
Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021

At Francis Dental, we do not charge extra for nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide is a mild, sedative agent that safely and effectively manages pain and anxiety during dental visits. We want our patients to be comfortable during their dental visit, and this is an option we are happy to provide to keep you relaxed.

At what age should I start bringing my children in to the dentist?

Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021
Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends between age 2-3, unless there is visible tooth decay or other concerns before this age. At Francis Dental, we try to follow their guidelines. Allow your children to practice brushing their own teeth, but be sure to brush your children's teeth for them as well. Do not allow your children to go to bed with a bottle or cup of milk or juice. (Water is acceptable.) Milk, formula, or juice left on teeth overnight can cause early tooth decay.

Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021

We're committed to keeping you and our staff safe and stopping the spread of COVID-19 by following recommended ADA and CDC precautions. We are seeing patients for all routine and elective procedures. We've scheduled our appointments to minimize the use of our waiting room. Please bring a mask with you to wear while moving about in our office. Once you're settled into your chair, you may remove your mask. In addition, to reduce exposure risk to yourself and others, we ask that you only bring one guest with you, if necessary. If you become exposed, or start feeling sick prior to your appointment, please call and let us know. Out of an abundance of caution, we may need to reschedule your appointment. Likewise, if you feel sick within 2 or 3 days after your appointment, please call and let us know so we can isolate and test employees who may have been exposed.

What is a CEREC crown?

Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021
Francis Dental Center | Oct 16, 2021

A Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics or – CEREC crown for short – is a relatively new field of dentistry that allows the dentist to produce evermore natural, and functional ceramic crowns in order to give patients a better, lifelike smile. While it can take weeks to receive a traditional crown, a CEREC crown uses CAD/CAM systems to create crowns in much less time.
