I’ve been looking for someone to help grow and care for my natural hair because I really don’t know what to do with it. I came here 3 weeks ago for the first time, I got a silk press and my hair is still so soft and bouncy. It’s usually dry, stiff, and brittle. I was also offered some tips and advice on how to keep it moisturized to prevent dryness and split ends. I’m looking forward to my JOURNEY for healthy hair!

I moved to Philadelphia in May 2013 and I’ve been searching for hairstylist since then. I went to over 30 different hair salons before discovering Journey Hair Salon in April 2021 Tamika did my hair for the first time and it was match made in hair heaven.. She and her assistant explained every step of my hair journey. She gave a breakdown of what I needed to do and what products would work bests in my hair.. The best natural hair stylist in Philadelphia!!!!!!!! I definitely would recommend her to every and anyone searching for a Great Natural Stylist!!!!!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this salon. The stylist went on about how she’s been in natural hair care for for years and years; saying that young women don’t know how to take care of their hair-we watch YouTube videos and end up doing more damage than good. Long story short, I decided to get a silk press done; first one in about five or six years. I noticed that she complained about my ends and how my hair wasn’t straightening to her liking. She then proceeded to cut my ends and went to flat iron my hair over and over again—might I mention, she still wasn’t satisfied with it and flat ironed certain areas a few more times. When I heard sizzling and crunching, she again blamed it on my ends and told me not to worry. I should have known then, my hair was being damaged badly. When it came time to wash my hair, there was EXTREME heat damage…..all around my head. Since then I’ve had to cut my hair off and start completely over. Will not go again and do not recommend naturals to go there.
