I think the animals should be cheaper to adopt no wonder why they have so many you do not need to be rich to give ur pet the best.... They do how ever take in lost cats so I'll give them 3 stars

They are a HUGE source of information! One of our dogs was involved in a biting incident. The investigating officer was a huge help and the personally at the desk had more information than we knew we needed. 😅

They appear to really care about their animals and know them well

We adopted our furry baby "Bailey" two days ago. His name at the shelter was Machop... He is the most sweet and loving dog 🐕 I have met ❤️ in my life. We are really happy to have him as the new member of our family.

The 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month the clinic at WVC Animal Shelter is open. Shots are cheap compared to Vet charges. If you need to do them on Saturday, try the clinic at the SL Humane Society. Hope that helps. Shots are 30 to 40 bucks each.
Find another place to get the 🐈 nutured, they don't do them as far as I can tell.
call them and ask, but I'm pretty sure they are near capacity.
I don't know! If I could rescue them all I would!!! I rescued one from there, if you are able please rescue one! Please please. Let's not let any more fur kids be killed.
Our front office is where you do adoptions is only open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 10:00am to 6:00pm. We are open Mon-Fri 9:30am to 6:00pm.
Yes, if you live in a agricultural zone. They do not qualify as a household pet.
Go to where you originally licensed your dogs, they should have a copy they can give you and can give you another tag as well. If it was at West Valley Animal Shelter that is what we can do, our address is 4522 West 3500 South. If all you need is a replacement tag it is only $1.
The place is a bit understaffed so it wouldn't surprise me if they were just too busy.
We have many volunteers and love our volunteers and all they do for the animals. You can apply to volunteer, we do have some restrictions. We have a volunteer coordinator you can ask to speak to about it.
Check 24petconnect.com. That's where all the animals found by or taken to the shelter are posted. I've found my dog that way twice. You can also fill out a lost animal form so they can keep an eye out and notify you of possible matches. Good luck!
I would contact animal control. They should be able to assist or point you in the right direction
I have contacting them before on domestic animals. Usually contact non emergency dispatch on wild ones.
I'm not sure why they would do that, it doesn't make much sense. Did they give any kind of reason why?
Check the website for a list of Animals up for adoption.
Don't put him down. Get help for your cat.
If the shelter won't take her, you can try humane society of Utah. Or best friends animal society.
They do not offer those services. They do not have a vet on staff
Petharbor.com There is a section that says 'available'
I believe it's either ten days or two weeks.
Just go in, you'll fill out some paperwork and pay an adoption fee. Best Friends Animal Society also has dogs and the ASPCA.
Yes they do cover Taylorsville and West Valley
They do not board there. How big of a dog? I board small dogs at my house for $12.00 a night
Look for a kennel not attached to a vet or hospital. They will be cheaper, especially for long term boarding. Try some doggie day cares. They often do boarding too.
If you Google vouchers for low income family's for spay and neuter there is a place that will pay if you can't afford it. Ive done it 2timea Shelby F
Yeah I dont know. I would presume being government probably 18. You can call to be sure
No they don't do shots and all of that and they do have cats and dogs and also why I was there was to get a license for my dog
Depends on if your pet's licensed. Has had a rabies shot. And where he was found. You buy a license, and pay so much per day.
Thankyou
Depends if the dog has shots, is the dog licensed, is the dog fixed was the dog running at large or just picked up. Prices varie based on the answers to those questions
Here is a link to information on community cats. The contact number for our community cat coordinator is at the bottom: http://www.wvc-ut.gov/1564/Community-FeralStray-Cat-Program
Thank you for the information. We still have good deals on dogs.
West Valley animal shelter does not take owner surrenders. The humane society takes on owner surrenders I think that it $65/$75 per dog. Your need to go on line and make an appointment to surrender. you can call other rescue in west valley. See if they can take your dog.
It depends on how long the dog is in the shelter. Fees for each day. You will be charged a stray fee and if you have not licensed it or have the rabies vaccine. More charges. And each day a new fee.
West Valley animal shelter does not do spay and neuter for the public and it depends on the weight of the dog as to what the cost is. Your cheapest place is going to be Salt Lake spay and neuter . If the dog is under 30 pounds it should be about $75 if it's an older dog the price can go up because of the added precautions anything over 3 they do blood work and IV fluids.
Go to petharbor.com and search West Valley They get new dogs and all time
Really don't know call them Monday!!!☺
We love to have people come in to see the animals we have here. We don't, however, allow people to play with the animals unless they are adopting them. But please come and see them.
We have all sorts of different animals. You just need to come down, or go to Petharbor.com, to see what is available.
Go to each shelter and take in flyers of your missing dog Keep checking back each day. Post on pawboost.com And other missing sites.

If you go to their website it will show what animals they have for adoption. It looks like right now they have cats, dogs, a parakeet, a goat, and 2 sheep.
They have a Pitbull terrier Siberian husky mix right now
No, we are closed on major holidays. This is on our website and also on our google page where our hours are listed. We will have the vet here on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays the following month.
Bear pepper spray will get them to leave you alone. If you see them you can call the animal control and they will come get them as well.
Depends on where you found the kitten. If you found it in West Valley City or Taylorsville then we are the right place. If in another city you turn it in to the shelter that serves that jurisdiction. It is actually against the law to harbor a stray animal so thank you for wanting to bring it in. We will take good care of it, we have a vet on staff that can look at it.
She is not here all the time but someone can get you an application during the times we are open.
We only do vaccines when the vet is here on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
Yes, we vaccinate all the animals that come into the shelter to help prevent the spread disease. Only a veterinarian can do the rabies vaccine so we hire a vet to come in on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month to provide this service to the community so they just cover the cost of the vaccine and do not have to pay for a veterinarian office visit. The law in West Valley City is that you need to license your pet, so we do provide licensing as well as enforcing the licensing when it isn't done.
They have cats of different ages, depending on availability. You need to call or visit to see what is available at any given time.
Specific breeds depends on what has arrived at the shelter on any given day, but when I've been there, there is usually a wide variety.
I don't believe it's a walk-in situation. Some things have to be done certain days of the week, or when the vet is there.
You might want to call them directly. This is generally for questions about the business, not about specific animals. It's answered by community members, not employees.
I don't think you can do it after hours, but they're open every 2nd & 4th Saturday from 10am-2pm.
Call an exterminator.
They occasionally get exotic pets, a goose would be considered wild or at best livestock and unlikely to be there. Maybe IFA, they have ducklings every spring.
You need to apply to volunteer then they have a volunteer orientation class you have to take. I'm not sure they'd invest the time to train you if you're only volunteering for a single day, but you'd need to call & speak to them directly to see for sure.
They used to require that volunteers be at least 16 or have a parent with you the entire time you're working a volunteer shift, but you should ask them directly for the current & correct information.
