The most beautiful lake on the 88 corridor. Unpredictable weather is another charm of this high Sierra lake. Some of the best hiking is on the east end of the lake. From this vantage point it is common to still view snow in certain areas of the mountain even in July.

Wow, newly renovated, clean and with a great camp host. Soooo close to Caples Lake and Resort, so if you need something simple, their store has it, like ice or fishing supplies!

Large camp spots and very quiet at night. The only downside is there should be bear boxes at the camp spots. We had a bear come through camp 2 nights in a row. The first night was unexpected so he got some bread products but the second night we were expecting him and put all of the food in the bed of our truck. The bear looked for food but only found ice cheast full of beer and water. He still knocked them over anyway though. I think a bear box would deture them from even looking for food and go somewhere else. Overall it is a great campsite.

Nice camp hosts. Nice campground overall, just very crowded, spots were very close together, and the dumpsters were locked because they were full, and the trashcans were overflowing. I had a fun weekend but probably wouldn't camp there again.

I don't actually know the answer to this but when my granpa started taking his motor home it always fit in a bunch of different spots. I'm pretty sure it was a 21' motor home.

I have a fully self contained camper on my 4x4 turbo diesel I'm trying to avoid hotels . Even just a snow park turn out works for me . Just trying to stay as close to the ski resorts as possible.

I know you don't take reservations, however, if I call the day of our expected arrival, can someone tell us if their is a trailer space open on that day? I don't want to take a trailer all that way and have to turn back.

There are many other campgrounds in the area. Woods Lake, Kirkwood Lake, Silver Lake East and West, Hope Valley. Many have both reservation and open sites. Still, best to go early on a Sunday or Monday.
