We stayed here over the weekend and were welcomed even though we arrived after 9pm. Very convenient for us with a dog and she enjoyed the dog park. The train going through about 4 times during the night was only downfall. We enjoyed our stay and owner is very delightful and helped us find our spot. Site very quite and everyone seemed very respectful.

Sue was a lovely host! We experienced issues with our camper and she went above and beyond to help us. The campground is a great value and conveniently located near all of the major historical sites in Scottsbluff. As other reviewers mentioned, this is, indeed, a basic campsite. There are no amenities (pool, playground, etc.). This is not necessarily a negative (sometimes the bells and whistles are just too much and can really put a damper on the camping experience), but definitely something to keep in mind.

My family and I stayed here for almost an entire year. Sue became family to us. You get used to the trains, after our 1st few days, it just became background noise. We actually liked getting to waive at the conductors as they drove by. We loved the dog park, not only for our dog, but for our 4 kids as well! We were allowed to put up water toys, volleyball nets, and whatever my kids could come up with as long as we cleaned up our mess. The trees provided nice shade. If we needed anything, Sue was more than happy to help us, she gave us directions to the best places in town, and was always happy to chat for a while. We loved it. In the time that we spent at Captain Critters, we saw so many improvements to the park. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

This photo was taken just down the road. Sue welcomed us and alerted us to the passing trains. We decided we would enjoy it here and set up our tent beside a row of trees in the storm we saw coming! Afterward, we enjoyed wonderful (free!) showers.
