Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing experience. The Black & Blue creates warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service is outstanding. The chief comes up with new recipes. The food is cooked to a perfection.

Really nice and upscale place. You definitely need to have a reservation if you want to get in at a certain time. The food was amazing here. Everything is ala carte and is pricey. This is a great place to go for an anniversary or special occasion.

The amazing food made up for the sluggish service. We came in with high expectations and neither the food nor drinks disappointed! The steaks are seasoned and cooked to perfection. The seafood is delicious and oh-so-fresh! Unfortunately, it is the first time I go to a restaurant (of this reputation) and feel like I am on the waiting staff's slow schedule. For example, once seated, it took about 20 mins before our drink order was taken and a full 30 mins before our first sip - unacceptable. This seems to be a covid aftershock to the area where there are staff shortages. I expect to return and be able to update this review with improved service.

Gave this a place a try over 5 years ago and was disappointed and never came back. Fast forward to 2021 and several friends recommended this place again so we decided to give it a second chance for our Anniversary. Big mistake. We were seated with menus and it took 10 minutes before our waiter came by to ask what drinks we wanted. He was rushing to get away from us so I had to stop him and put in our food order. After this we didn't see him again until near the end of our meal over an hour later when he decided to come and ask if we wanted more drinks. I can appreciate a place with decent cocktails and we would've definitely ordered at least another 2 drinks if he bothered to come back. From ordering to arriving at our table our entrees took 50 minutes. A couple next to us who arrived AFTER us had already finished their entire meal before ours came out. A random staff person (non waiter) kept coming by and refilling our waters which we appreciated since we finished our first drinks pretty quickly. She cleared our table too when we had bread and appetizers. I wish the tip we left had gone to her. On the topic of appetizers their free breads are AWFUL. One was an olive bread and the other was some sort of sourdough. I love sourdough bread but this was inedible and had a bad after taste. They had to toss almost all the bread from our table because we could not scarf it down. The Wagyu meatballs were meatloaf on a stick with no flavor for $17. Moving on to entree and pricing. For the price of the meat the sides need to be included in the meal. I paid $29 for a 9oz filet (which was well done when I asked for medium) and my side of scalloped potatoes was $13. My husband had the 20oz Cowboy ribeye for $59 and his baked potato was $13-17. In total two meats, two sides, one app, two alcoholic beverages cost $162 before tip. Make it make sense. I've spent less at Texas de Brazil and they have a full buffet and endless meats of all kinds. We usually go there for special occasions and I will always regret not going there instead of this place. The attentive waitress (who wasn't ours) and my husband's meal is why there's even 2 stars. I don't normally give low reviews (if you've seen my other reviews on Yelp I'm a 4 reviewer typically) but EVERYTHING was so bad. Service, overcooked steak, bad bread, high cost and most of all the disappointment. In over 5 years this place hasn't improved. We ate nothing all day in the hopes we'd have a nice dinner for our Anniversary and left disappointed and hungry. We were better off going to Cheesecake Factory across the plaza.

The safety practices is pretty strict, No entry without reservations, 6 feet apart from each other, tables and glasses cleaned periodically, and waiters always wear gloves, masks are also strict
Anywhere from jeans and a polo or button down shirt to full out dressed to the nines.
Yes, they are open. You'll need a reservation.
You are always welcome to make a reservation, however we are happy to accommodate walk ins in the dining room, bar or lounge. https://blackandbluesteakandcrab.com/rochester/reservation/
For dinner, here are a few salads and sides that qualify. No entrees. Of course, desserts. For lunch, they serve the salads as entrees. So, while you wouldn't starve, there really aren't many choices.
We wore nice jeans and shirts. Some were dressed nicer, but I think we were the norm.
My total dinner cost for 2 with tip and 1 drink each was 140
