We were working with the York, NE branch between November 2020 to April 2021. At first everything seemed perfect, no red flags, paperwork was done, everything was ready to go, Becky Rabe was super helpful and answered all of our questions. Sometime between the purchase and delivery they switched our salesperson. As the expected delivery date got closer he kept pushing it back(3 separate times). The last time it was delayed they gave us a set delivery date, which was going to be 2 weeks after the closing date on the house that we were living in at the time. So, we had to make other living arrangements and find storage for all of our belongings. A week before the home was going to be delivered we got a call saying they didn’t want to work with our bank(BankWest, which was one of the 4 banks they recommended when the process began). We tried to get financing through 2 other places but were denied because the foundation was already poured. A few days later we got an email from the guy we had been working with asking us to send corporate an email saying that we were backing out of the contract because of a “sales tax issue”. RED FLAG. The purchase agreement states that if you back out they can keep your down payment! Do not fall for this trick! At this point we got our lawyer involved and after trying to fight for the house we finally settled for just getting our down payment back instead which was only partially refunded until our lawyer reached out a second time demanding the rest of the refund. Upon further investigation we also found out that the concrete plans that Factory Expo sent for the foundation were not legal/up to code so we now have an $8000 foundation that can’t be used and due to housing shortages have been stuck staying with family members for 4 months!
