Questions & Answers

Does Dr. Kiple extract teeth?

Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020
Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020

Dr. Kiple performs extractions on a case-by-case basis. Based on factors such as the health of the individual, the location of the tooth within the mouth, and the condition of the remaining tooth structure, Dr. Kiple will complete an exam with x-rays and then determine if he will complete the extraction or refer to an oral surgeon.

Does your office make dentures?

Do you provide dental care for children and adults?

At what age does Dr. Kiple start seeing patients?

Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020
Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020

Dr. Kiple recommends bringing children to the office at approximately two years of age for their first general exam and cleaning. We call these Happy Visits! [There’s a blog on this, too!] Of course if parents see something in their child’s mouth that doesn’t look quite right, we suggest calling the office to schedule an appointment. And PLEASE don’t wait until a child is two years old to instill regular brushing habits! Dr. Kiple recommends parents brush their child’s teeth as soon as the first tooth erupts.

Do I really need to floss my teeth?

Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020
Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020

Absolutely yes! Flossing is just as important as brushing…maybe even more important! Daily flossing helps to clean the food and plaque from between the teeth. If food and plaque aren’t removed from between the teeth, bacteria in the plaque can secrete acid that causes decay. There are also a number of other health benefits from flossing, so floss for your general health as well as your oral health! [This is one of our blog topics!]

How often should I brush my teeth?

Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020
Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020

Dr. Kiple recommends brushing your teeth at least twice daily, and more if possible! [For tips on brushing and choosing the right toothbrush, check out our blog on this topic.] Regular brushing helps keep your teeth and gums healthy and clean by removing bacteria-causing plaque.

Why are regular dental visits important?

Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020
Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020

No matter how faithful you are with at-home dental hygiene, it is important to schedule regular dental hygiene appointments. Tartar buildup on your teeth cannot be removed even with regular brushing and flossing, and it must be removed by a dental hygienist to keep your gums as healthy as possible. Routine visits allow Dr. Kiple to monitor any changes in your oral health and check for any signs of cavities, gum disease, or excessive wear. We also provide an oral cancer screening with each cleaning and exam.

Do you work with children/ offer pediatric dentistry?

Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020
Morningside Dental | Oct 16, 2020

Yes! The Morningside Dental team is great with kids of all ages, and work hard to make sure each child’s experience at Morningside Dental is as pleasant as possible! We share special stuffed animal friends with kids who have extensive procedures, and for all our young patients (ages 2-12) with “no cavities” check-ups, we have a monthly drawing for a jumbo stuffed animal! We see children for a variety of general dental needs, including routine cleanings and exams, cavity restorations, and more. Depending on the complexity of a child’s dental needs, there may be specific procedures or unique circumstances when we need to refer a child to a pediatric dentist or another specialist. However, we consider each situation on a case-by-case basis.
