I just moved to Des Moines, and ventured into Fareway for my first time this evening. Although it was a half hour to closing, staff were incredibly cheerful, kind and helpful. Big shout out to Erica my cashier for her kindness. Biggest shout out to Ben, who drove my cart out to the parking lot, packed the groceries away in my trunk, and returned the cart to the store. I’ve never experienced such customer service, and NEVER had anyone help me with my groceries. This is the kind of shopping experience you see in Americana 1950s and 1960s movies- where people really care. Glad to have found my new grocery store. Thanks guys!

Faraway is always one of the best places to buy meats. It has been the go-to place even when I lived out of state. I would place the order to my specifications, and they even double-wrapped to ensure good traveling. Their prices are competitive

From being a smaller grocery store they have a good variety they sell different things than Hy-Vee does it's just a nice slower change of pace than a busy grocery store staff was helpful too best meat counter in town worth your visit still my favorite place to go by far the best place on the west side to get groceries staff is the best and never too crowded always good deals
