Neat ex-town with lots of interesting features. It's not quite the middle of nowhere, but you can see that from there. I like that someone left a Porsche 928 on the memorial.

There isn't much left of Metropolis, some remnants of the school and old hotel. The cemetery has more inhabitants than the town did. Metropolis had a difficult time as a town and didn't last long--lack of water, ravenous jackrabbits, and Mormon crickets lead to the rapid demise of the town. The road out is partially paved and turns to gravel/dirt.

I am enjoying discovering old Nevada history. So interesting. Unfortunately vandals are destroying history with graffiti and litter and some theft. What a damn shame!
