This is neat area in St Louis with a lot of history. Some decent shops down there. The only bad is the brick streets need better maintained as they are rough on a vehicle. The only other thing is be very careful especially near the Metrolink as it can get unsafe at times and lock your vehicles and hide your belongings if you leave them in your vehicle or they will be gone when you return. Update 07/22 - becareful downtown at night it's become a dangerous place to be and vehicles constantly either broken into, stolen, or worse you get carjacked. It's ashame for such a beautiful area. Used to be favorite area, but crime and the fleeing of businesses grows everyday. If going to casino you should be safe there is a lot of security but still stay aware of your surroundings.

Most of the restaurants and shops are gone due to Covid. The area itself isn’t living up to its full potential, with vacant areas and a lack of development. Nothing really to see besides a different view of the arch. Would not go out of your way to visit until they take care of the area.
