If I could give no stars I would. Me and my child was discriminated by the store manager Ashley. I had a issue with the cashier Jessica bc we had 3 separate orders with dividers to separate everything. I told Jessica I had three order. Jessica was just throwing stuff into the cart. I asked her was she separating everything she said “ no I’m just throwing everything in the cart” I told her this is insta cart orders, three different receipts for three different people. When she was done ringing all orders, I asked to speak with a manager. Kimberly came up to me and asked me my issue. I told her and she said she would talk to her. Ashley came up to me and asked me was I from insta cart , and then asked me if I had dividers in between the 3 order. I told her yeah. Then she went on to say well “your child was a distraction to my cashier” she never once asked me my issues or concerns. Ashley made my son the target. She said she was 100% behind her cashier. She showed no accountability. As a store manager you should handle situations appropriately and professionally, and she did neither one. She was very rude. Ashley was arguing with me back and forth. The Jessica girl was already mad bc her line was packed and I seen it within her body language. As a cashier in a busy grocery store you have to know how to work under pressure and multi task. Aldi has a contract with insta cart and they have to abide by their rules per insta cart. Ashley also told me them separating orders is a courtesy and if I don’t like it I can go shop somewhere else. I asked Ashley for the district manager contact and she told me she couldn’t give it to me. She also told me to shop at the Mattoon location. No two year old mind is fully developed. A two year old is going to cry. You are going to redirect a 2 year old. She made the issue all about my 2 year old just bc I complained about her cashier. As far as spending my personal money there, I would never. She is very racist. I have the whole conversation recording on my phone. I have contacted trust and safety through insta cart and made a discrimination charge with EEOC. I will be contacting corporate Aldi tomorrow morning. I will not let up on this.

Prices are getting as high as other stores. Don't believe it's worth a drive out of town to save money. Gass will eat up more than you will save.

They have a decent selection of food at reasonable prices. Sometimes lines are long at the cash register but generally they do open more lanes when lines get too long. Their food is better than normal and they also have a fair selection of specialty foods. Many of their prices are lower than all others because they get shipments directly from manufacturers making products under the Aldi name. Staff are friendly and always willing to help. They have been out of stock on several items recently. One day they were out of much of the bread and pastries that they carry. Another day they were out of chicken and other meats. Still other days they have been out of non-dairy products such as almond milk and I have even seen them out of eggs. Hopefully the stock situation improves I would suggest you give them a try if you have an Aldi store in your area.
