Do you need to be well rounded in mathematics to understand this course? Haven't done anything with math for 7 years.

It would most certainly benefit you to brush up on basic math. I believe they gave us material/websites to study for the aptitude test. They also have a practice material packet which you can purchase through them.

Please is there electrical short courses?

Apprenticeship is about 5 years long, you take course through out that time.
