Bella Vino is one of my favorite spots in St. Charles! The food is excellent, the patio is absolutely perfect on a summer day (fire pits are amazing for a cool day too), everything is perfectly clean, and the staff have always been so kind and helpful. Once in a while a busy day can mean longer waits from the kitchen, it's not a big place so I assume it's not a big kitchen either, but my friends and I enjoy the atmosphere so much that we talk and drink wine and barely notice any delays if they happen.

I got food poisoning here on my birthday last year. Very sad because I used to come here every Wednesday with my boyfriend for the half off bottles of wine nights. I've discovered a lot of great wines from them too. I would only go back to drink wine on their patio but I'll never eat their food ever again. It was lobster ravioli that made me sick on 12/1/2021. I attached a photo of what it looked like. I don't believe the food was prepared or handled safely that night. It's the only time I've ever gotten sick from their food so it could be a one off incident but I don't care to try my luck again. Very disappointing because it's such a great spot on main otherwise and service is always top-notch. :(

I was too busy enjoying my food to take pictures before desert. Really friendly and efficient service. Some of the best food I've had in a long time. The flavors are multi-dimensional (sorry if that's lame, but it's the best way to put it). Everything we tried this evening had me smiling - lobster mac and cheese, lemon rigatoni, chicken and spinach pesto flatbread, patatas bravas (great aioli!), and the strawberry bread pudding. The star of the show was the chorizo stuffed dates - sweet, savory, the right amount of acid! Surprisingly complex. This is a place you need to try.

I loved the place before they switched the owner and a chef. It’s not about the food, really, but the service we got was TERRIBLE. We were nagged to pay the bill about 10 times and the waitress could not wait to get us out of the door even though there were a lot of empty tables left. On the way out, I noticed that the staff already started a party for themselves around the bar and the waitresses were sipping wine and enjoying themselves. This left a very sour taste in my mouth for this place and I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.
