My family and I really enjoyed had a great day at the park. Was able to catch a lot of fish and enjoyed riding our bikes. Want to give a shout out to Dan "Lego Watchband" for being kind and considerate with cleaning a picnic area for us. We will be coming back soon!

A really nice park! A quiet, peaceful state park. Horse trails, hiking trails, BMX trails, and mountain bike trails. Also, there was a Frisbee golf course. Restrooms were kept clean. Friendly hosts. We took advantage of the hiking trails. Wish we could have stayed longer.

My husband and I just got back from a 4 night, 5 day camping trip today from there. It was absolutely beautiful, very well kept up, spacious sites and restrooms were very clean. Fire wood and ice available there on the spot. Very peaceful! Definitely will return many more times.

Upland and bottom land have power. The primitive camp sites do not.
Either 25. or 35./night w/full power & water hookups
Just a campsite. Unfortunately they don't have any freeform camping.
They do for your camp site but tubing and horseback riding is cash
$150-$175/night plus tax. All of the info about the park can be found on their website.
Dutch oven cooking is held the second Saturday of every month; more information is on their website: https://www.crt.state.la.us/louisiana-state-parks/parks/bogue-chitto-state-park/index
Frickies cave (may be spelled incorrectly) is inside the park
Call to see if they are even open. They are a family oriented park and they do accept pets on a leash. Bottomland goes under water
There isn't really lakes. They're ponds and they have a river that runs through. Some ponds would be great for a kayak but I don't think anything much bigger. They don't have a launch
I think they come ready to go..
I have never camped there, day use only. You will enjoy it!
As far as I know the horses are not allowed in the camper areas and are normally just daytime use of the park. They have a nice area to park your truck and trailer with a pavilion and bbq pits
Call the park and inquire about being a camp host.
27 is nice
You can launch from the park
Check out there website. They have cabins that range from 4 people to 50.
They have a bbq pit and a fire pit at each of the bottom land sites. There is also running water and an electrical outlet. The only thing you need is a tent and some wood, which is sold at the front office for $6 a bundle.
You're welcome to bring your own kayaks, but we don't rent them at Bogue Chitto State Park.
They are available to rent, you may need to call and schedule in advance.
Never stayed over night just fish
The price will be listed on their website...the first link that appeared in your Google search for the park, or go to www.LaStateParks.com.
All campsites have 30/50 amp hook ups
Go to their website for current rates and reservation information.
$150-$175/night plus tax. All the information about their overnight accommodations can be found on the webpage.
Yes, as long as a licensed driver is operating them. From the park's webpage: "Use of Personal Golf Carts on State Park Property - $10/cart per day; $100 annual permit available. Proof of cart insurance required; must be operated by a licensed driver."
Yes
About and half hour to an hour depending on your speed
I don't believe they have a day where they don't have day use. I do know, however, that there day use times are Sunday straight through to Saturday from 7AM till 9PM. Hope this helps. Just called to see and found out that their water park is closed on Mondays due to maintenance.
No golf carts unless state license street legal, no ATV allowed. At the Boga Chitta park.
No, this is a state park. No hunting allowed here due to the area being frequented by families and children. Camping and hiking are the main attractions. Fishing with a license in one of the many lakes is allowed.
Yes you can camp or fish all year long. I think that the canoeing and tubing is closed after Labor Day
No. The bottomland rv area does not have full hookups at every site. Just water and electric with a dump station on the exit. Some sites have full hookup, but it depends on where you are. Call the front desk. They are very helpful.
