Called ahead of time to ask if we could check in "early" at one pm because we had been on the road since eight pm the night before. Explained I was four hours out but would love to stay there. The gentleman said of course and not a problem. We get there and immediately it's going downhill like a train careening off the tracks down in the gorge. There's no one at the front desk even after ringing the bell twice. I go back outside and grab my phone to call the hotel. They pick up promptly and said they'd be right there. I go back inside and show him my reservation and he says he needs an hour to clean the room. Enough said I go to the grocery store and kill time. I go back an hour later and the same thing. Had to call in order to check in. Said we had to crate our dog while there and to sign a waiver promising the thirty pound dog would be properly restraint. Finally get into the room and the room hasn't been cleaned at all. They literally changed the sheets and pillow cases, thank God, and the trash bags. There was hair in the bath tub, dust bunnies everywhere, and the filter of the AC was matted like sheep fur. What in the actual funk took an hour for me to check in when they didn't even clean the room. The television speakers are on the back of the TV so when you turn it up to audibly hear it, there's a buzzing vibration emitting from the press board Ikea structure that supports it. The only saving grace of this place is that it had a tub so I could soak and the location.

Positive: I travel often to see my kids in nearby Glen Carbon and simply need a place to sleep. The rooms are what you'd expect...bare bones. I stay here cuz it's the cheapest price in the area. Next to gas station, restaurants and highway.

The staff was nice and understanding of our situation when we first arrived. They let us check in early and even made adjustments when they found out we had pets. The room was already clean even with the early check in.

We arrived at this motel on the 4th of July, not expecting much since we didn't have to pay a lot and it was a busy night. Instead, we found a great experience! Scot, the person who checked us in, was the friendliest person we have ever met at a motel and we have driven across the country several times now. He knew most everyone by name and they smiled and laughed and genuinely seemed happy to see him. I would return to this location just to say hello to him again. The motel is no-frills, the price is really inexpensive, but the room was very clean and the staff was the most friendly.
