Beautiful non-profit, no kill shelter. I have signed up to volunteer here and will be partaking in that very soon! The grounds are as clean as a massive animal shelter can be. The staff I met thus far are exceedingly friendly and all the little beauties are well cared for.

I have volunteered here for a few months and i can say these animals are taken care of amazingly. The staff here go above and beyond to ensure the animals will be placed in the right home, and all needs are met. They have their own vet staff as well to ensure all animals medical needs are met. They are on top of each and every animal that enters the facility and know the animals like they are family. I adopted a cat here and am so happy with my decision. Shots were up to date and my cat is happy and healthy thanks to AWL.

I set up an appointment last Saturday to meet a little guy named Sarge,a 4 yr old Chihuahua mix and when they brought him out it was love at first sight!! I adopted him!! Any questions that I had they answered to the best of their ability. I couldn't be happier!! I would definitely go through them again!! They are all nice people and it is obvious they love all the animals they take in!!

Hello to all, I ended up taking in this little pregnant stray, and everyone up there has helped me through it. They are also going to be taking her and her kittens in today, so please go see them. They are all awesome! Lil’ Mama: She is special, meaning she is considered a special needs cat. She is very young, very affectionate and needs someone to love her. I just can’t have a cat in my current situation, and this is causing me a lot of agony handing her over. But I know someone out there will see what I see in her, and help. She does not jump, she goes limp when you love on her and will fall to floor, she runs sideways....it will be different in so many awesome ways. She is ready to love and be loved. Thank you.

Why not take the dog to be checked out? Also watch Craigslist and Facebook about lost dogs? Someone could be heartbroken looking for the dog.
Yes we can. And would love to have her. We will give her love until she gets adopted.
Yes volunteering is always good and appreciated ! Call them and setup a time to help !
We do not need the washcloths, but we will take the larger bath towels if you have them
It's the chair, not the cat. Someone has spilled something or hasset something mbv g on that chair that she doesn't like. But yes they will take her.
I have an 11 year old male chihuahua that I am looking to rehome. He loves other animals. He is fixed and was born with a club foot which does not hinder him in the least. He needs a loving home with someone who has more time to give him.
Mickey my children and I are looking for cats we would love to take them both!!
I think they might have it covered just taking a guess
Yes I got a email about it. Ask bruce about it.
Sometimes they have puppies, but why would you want all the work of a puppy when there are all ages there that need a home! And just want to be loved!
No they don't. Dogs will destroy them.
Hello Patty yes we do have any for baskets all the time so we would be more than happy to take them you can drop them off anytime you'd like at the shelter. Again thank you so much for thinking of us.
I have a 4 month old kitten that I need to find a home for
Not open for adoption or to meet
If you qualify for our HELP program, it will be $20. That is the only service we provide for the public at this time. Please visit awlshelter.org and click on the resources tab, then click HELP.
Yes they will take them
You would need to fill out a Foster application on the website if you are not already approved for fostering, then you can call and ask to speak with the Foster Coordinator. 941.625.6720
I volunteer there and I know they have fixed boxes where people can drop off donated goods. As far as money being donated, I suggest looking at Animal welfare league on line. TY for donations. The animals really appreciate it!!
Contact the shelter with any ??
You will have to ask them
Don't know if they are hiring but we are very desperate for volunteers.
I just surrendered a Jack Russell terrier, 11 years old. If that might work for you.
Yes, 😃they will help you in finding a solution...AT LEAST GIVE YOU FREE DONATED FOOD FOR THEM UNTIL AN ANSWER CAN BE FOUND....😃🌞
They take any and all donations, whatever pets and volunteers need.
Animal welfare us a great place to adopt dogs
I know they use the towels. Not sure about the sheets, you should call and ask
People often donate open food items, but we can't use them to feed the animals here due to fears about contamination. Sometimes we can re-donate these items a wildlife rescue group, but often we can't.
Call and ask they can help with the information
Call tomorrow and find out
I agree ask animal welfare league
Animal welfare league
No allergies to 🐈
Animal warfare in Englewood fl
They are mostly chinese crested dogs. Alot are between 8 to 10 years old. From what I hear they are doing a lottery draw for them at 9 am tomorrow. Sorry i really couldnt help as much. Goid luck.
No im sorry but you have to get your tags at animal control on airport road.
Contact animal welfare league and they do hold free adoptions, I just dont know the times or days they do hold the event.
Yes, if you can find him, bring him in
I don't know I don't work there ! I volunteered ! Call them. And ask ! But please take or adopt a helpless animal wether pruebreed or not !
Not sure I know Suncoast Humane Society does. Call Rescue League and ask
Not sure, you'd have to call. I know Suncoast Humane Society does.
Unfortunately the dogs can't tell us their name. Dogs are given a name after a period of time but there is no " Ruby" right now.
You'd have to go in and see? Maybe try calling them?
That is animal cruelty, if you ask me. There is no need for a heavy chain if the dog is in a kennel. If I was you I would call animal control
Yes that's one of the ways to get to know if u want to adopt a pet.
They have a schedule for training courses. If your on facebook look up their page!! We need your help!
I believe that they charge a fee for each surrendered animal they accept. They may help you reduce fees if you donate food and supplies with them, not sure. Give a call first. FYI: This is a NOT A NO KILL SHELTER
Yes they accept donations, but I think it is only while they are open.
Animal Welfare League Port Charlotte Fla
Yes as far as I know. It would be smart to ask Renee at the front desk though.
Try ARC in Sarasota they do reduce costs spay and neuter services took my puppy there
They euthanize for temperament and health issues. It can depend... Whats the issue?
I know they have volunteers but not sure of age, why not call them directly .....
Seems like a lot of pit mix dogs are at the shelter
It is 8/18/18 until 8pm
Not that I know. Call Local shelter and ask them. They might know of reasonable places.
There is a company called Charlotte county cats that will spay/neuter cats that are stray or abandoned. ❤
Give an older dog a chance! They have the " wrinkles" ironed out and are loving and hoping for a final forever home. Even though I am a dog person, I took a cat ten years old, now eleven. She's wonderful, I wouldn't trade her for the world! As humans, do we want to be rejected because we are old and/or ugly?
I'm in the same position. Did the shelter give you an answer?
Yes. Can use any donations you are able to provide. Thank you.
They have volunteer positions as young as 14
Yes we do! Bring them to the incoming building in front.
Give them a call. I dont remember if i saw her name on the roster yesterday.
We keep our dogs till they are adopted! If u choose animal welfare league we would love for ur dog to come! 🐕
$130 for adult dogs. $160 for large breed or puppies under 6 months. $225 for small breed or puppies (25 pounds or less.
You will not have a problem with the county you live in. Tracey and Keisha are correct. AWL wants good homes for the pet.
Yes
Around $75-100. That includes rabies, spay
Its per night.
They rehome all cats and dogs unless they are violent or very sick and can't be fixed.
I think around $100, includes spay, vaccines
Normally, Dry. But because of our senior dogs, We wouldn't mind Wet.
Usually open 10 am to 4 pm.
Tomorrow, 10/01/2017 at 10 am
