I called all morning to make sure that the Laffey at Louisiana location of Louisiana scrap metal would be open July 2 Saturday from 7 AM to 11 AM. I finally called the Baton Rouge location to confirm that the Lafayette location should be open today, and they advised me that it was. I drove 40 minutes in town to scrap a small trailer load of metal. I got here at 10:15 AM and the employees in bright chartreuse colored shirts advised me that they will not be open until Tuesday, July 5 to take metal. I not only am I stuck with a trailer of metal, that was gas money for bringing it out here. Highly disappointed in the management of this location. Huge signs on fence states the location is open Saturday from 7 AM until 11 AM. Small tiny letter size paper for sign stating closed observing holiday hours

We must hold copper payments for 5 business days unless you are a commercial business.
For copper transaction with the general public, we are required to hold the check for 5 days. You can either come back to pick up the payment after the 5 days have expired, or upon your request we will mail it to you.

No place.... Thats ligit that is. You have to have atleast 8 or 10 pounds (i think) but i do know there is a minimum. Dont burn it, no one takes it burnt. After all that and the work etc. You give an address or choose to pick up your check in 7 days.
