Billing department is awful. Asking them to lower your monthly payment is like pulling teeth. What kind of facility doesn't help their patients when they cannot afford a big amount especially when they are actually trying to pay their bill? And when they say they will change the monthly amount, they don't and they will still charge you the same amount.

Went into the ER, had vital signs/x-rays taken, nothing else, billed the insurance company over $3,400. Aside from a prescription for a pain medication that I could not tolerate, I was not treated in any other way and was told that it was just a matter of time before my injury would heal. Is this a great example of overbilling?

I could probably write a better review if I actually got medical care here. Because it was closest to our home, I showed up at 10pm on a Saturday night with my 91-year-old mother, who needed medical attention. I parked outside the emergency room and left the car running while I rang the "doorbell" outside the locked emergency room door. No one answered and it eventually went to voicemail. As I began to call the phone number taped to the door, a woman exited, so I went in. In passing, I asked her if anyone was actually working there and she said, "Yes, but they aren't very nice." Upon entering, I saw a man in the waiting room who said he had been waiting a while. Two preoccupied and annoyed women finally came to the window. I told them the situation and asked if they were too busy to see my mom. One told me they would be happy to see my mom, if I'd like, but they were already helping patients. The other reminded her of the gentleman in the waiting room, who she seemed to have forgotten about. At that point, I decided to go somewhere else. This is not by any definition an emergency room. If you have a true health emergency, do not waste any time at Westlake Medical Center.
