Bottom line: I will not be adopting from this shelter in the future and would not recommend to others. Does not seem trustworthy. Adopted a dog that I absolutely adore. I was told he was around 4. From day one I suspected he was older. When I took him to the vet for a full nose-to-tail check up and they confirmed that he was 8-10 years old. I have no problem with this other than the fact that I was overcharged $95. It is just disappointing and feels deceptive. How could people and vets who have way more experience w/ animals than I do not see that he was older? The one other things that has left a bad taste in my mouth is the social media posts that publicly shame people. Dogs that got away? Yes, so sad. Posting to shame people? Not cool - in any circumstance.

Very disappointed. After waiting almost a month we find out we can't adopt the pup because the foster didn't think we were a good match based on one phone call. We will definitely go elsewhere.

Can't say enough positive things! Thanks for for our THEO FKA Biscuit!

Honestly look elsewhere if you want to adopt. I get having policies put in place, but this company makes it pretty much impossible to adopt. And people wonder why there aren't more folks out there adopting animals. There is one specific dog (his name is Gallagher) there that I have been interested in and he's been there for MONTHS. I currently have two labs (fixed male and unfixed female) and we live on property in the country so I thought this third dog would love it here. Reached out to see if I could meet him, but later found out that since my female dog isn't fixed, I would just get rejected... seems like a pretty minor reason to deny someone a dog, and deny the dog a loving home, considering the dog I want to adopt is neutered so we wouldn't have to worry about an accidental pregnancy. Really disappointed in this company and the certain policies they have in place. They are only hurting the dogs in the long run.

I'm interested in adopting a puppy what do I have to do
Where do you live I live in Maryville mo. How old is this chi weenie?
They have volunteers come in often to help with things around rescue. You would need to call the rescue and schedule a day to come out and help. To volunteer by yourself you would need to be at least 18.
agree with katie call them or write them on facebook.
Please send me a picture of Mia
yea how many do they cost
Call them or check their Facebook page. They are a wonderful rescue and everyone is very happy to answer questions.
Check out the website or call the shelter . This is run by some of the nicest people you would ever meet .
After the quarantine is lifted. You can apply at www.aheinz57.com
Check out the website at www.aheinz57.com all of the adoptable dogs and cats are listed there.
Aheinz57 is awesome! Staff is friendly, process is easy and you know your new friend is healthy. We adopted from there 3 months ago and are so blessed with our new furbaby.
We only adopt to Iowa and some surrounding states. I'm sure you can find great rescues on the East coast to adopt from.
Yes, they will be available for adoption soon. Now would be a good time to get your application filled out and submitted so they can get it verified. It will speed up the process if you have the verification done before.
I'm fairly certain you would need to speak with your veterinarian about declawing your cat. AHeinz57 is first and foremost an animal rescue center.
You can go to the website www.aheinz57.com You must be 18 to volunteer by yourself and help with the dogs. There are other opportunities possible but you would need to contact the rescue directly for more info.
I think it'd be safe to assume so since they are a rescue place.
Lots of different mixed breeds and different ages. Check out their website for photos!
St. Bernard Basset mix they think
The website is down today. Our it people are working hard to get it fixed
I got my dog 3 years ago. They can be thorough (such as doing a home visit or asking for a lot of information), but i quickly realized its because they really care about animals and wats to put dogs in the best home possible. I would recommend Aheinz57 over anyone else in the DSM area.
I don't see why not. Perhaps just give them a call to be sure.
This facility is primarily run by volunteers with other full time jobs. Most the dogs are in foster care and not at the facility.
