MSK Institute EXCELLENT: I had a total hip replacement: From the beginning, I was met by smiling knowledgeable staff. I made myself comfortable in the exam room where medical staff came to me instead of moving from room to room or to different addresses in Austin. It was easy to get appointments that were offered the same week or the next week. Dr Karl Koenig the orthopedic surgeon emphasized that I am part of this team that is created for me to take an active part in my health care. I felt like the care is patient centered. Of note, Dr Koenig always responded to my messages through patient portal. I sent a lot of questions. He always responded with answers that helped me same day or next day. That type of access to one’s physician is incredible and really decreased my anxiety. I had a spinal for a total hip replacement. It was great!! Hospital staff were superb. Dr Koenig always answered my questions. The surgery began at 9 am and I walked with a walker out of the Dell Seton Medical Center to go home at 5pm SAME DAY! Dr Koenig did an amazing job. Before surgery I had left hip pain referred to my leg that was on pain scale 1-10 a 12. After surgery that pain is resolved. I have some expected post op pain that is quite manageable. My hip pain is gone. I ambulate well with walker. I am amazed.…absolutely amazed how well I feel. The hip replacement surgery process was smooth and quick. For joint problems and especially hip osteoarthritis I absolutely recommend the Dell Seton UT Medical School MUSCULOSKELETAL INSTITUTE and Dr Karl Koenig and the team working with him. Thank you for excellent expert professional friendly and personalized care. A big HURRAH for all of you!

Easy parking, which was a concern.
The Norton family
Gave one star because I had to. So far our experience has been beyond AWFUL! My mom was told she would have to transfer over there to continue her cancer treatment. For three weeks she attempted to find out if they had received her files. Left several messages and no one ever the return a single phone call. So when she went in person she was told to quit calling everyday because she was “jamming up” the phone lines and voicemail. ( she called once every other day) . She eventually Went to Kyle to get her own records and transfer them in a box herself to the office. 2 weeks later (today) she gets an appointment where she is told her cancer is incurable and she really shouldn’t miss any treatments (has missed 3 soon to be 4 because of nonsense) but they are short handed so come back July 11 and we will see what we can do and oh by the way the Dr. Anusim (attending) will not be available so you will have to meet with my PA( nothing against a PA most are better anyway). Also, you need labs and it’s 2:45 and since the lab closes at 3 you will need to come back tomorrow. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Currently trying to see where we can get transferred to. I had a bad feeling from the get go and should have listened to my gut. Don’t take on patients if you are to swamped to deal with them. Expected far more human kindness at least put a smile on a pretend to care.
