Great place to stop if dodging traffic. On topic of traffic.. if you are heading to Breck, there is an alternate route. For everyone headed up to Summit City... #gobreck via US285 Avoid dangerous and crowded I70. If heading to the Rooster to get it done, Take US285 out of Denver. Stop on way up at Morrison visit Red Rocks.. maybe snap some pics and update the 'Gram or your 'Snap. Gentle ride up to and thru the big valley, then bang a right north on Highway9 in metropolitan Fairplay towards Breck. If you need shopping, stop in the suburbs of Alma, visit Al-Mart. (It's a great spot to buy film). Finish your journey with a nice soft ride over Hoosier and you land at the biggest greatest ski resort in the world. Filled with many chain restaurants, plenty of t shirt shops.. and other tourist friendly activities. Those learning to ski and ride are always welcome at Breck. Always expanding, always accommodating out of state skiers and riders. #gobreck Ride the Rooster. Send it, Get it done! Important: Breck is rumored to be expanding to Peak#1 so make sure to stay away from dangerous I70.

Nice quiet nook within the mountains that isn't a far drive from Denver. Beautiful river winds along a rocky path, and then sidewalks further down for walking & biking. Parking lot is always nice & clean, bathrooms are primitive but also tidy. When it's warm, you can sit on the large rocks by the water & soak up some sun. When it's snowy, it's still a beautiful view, with a chance of seeing animal tracks in the snow. We saw big cat paw tracks in the snow when we went during New Years weekend. It may feel secluded & like you're alone, but there is usually a ranger parked higher up the mountain watching everyone. He'll drive down and tell you to move your car if you are parked in a no parking zone or if he thinks something suspicious is going on (we didn't have any issues, but watched it happen to others.) After adventuring, you can continue west & the next exit is Idaho Springs, for some delicious food & quaint shops, or maybe the hot springs.

This stop has a great view of the bridge, the Belt Buckle of the Mineral Belt information was really neat to learn but someone please for the sake of anyone using this rest stop for fly fishing put in some real toilets or at least get someone to clean the stop more regularly.

Nice short stop. Three are primitive toilets. But you can't do much. The trail seems to be closed, right after the bridge. You can only walk 2 or 3 minutes.

I believe the law 'round these parts states, "sunrise to 1 hour after sundown. Keep your eyes peeled for garnets. 😉👊
Yes. Dogs need to be on a leash for their own protection.
