A perfect day trip when visiting the mountain. It's a beautiful ride on an open train. If you're lucky, like we were, you'll see deer running through the forest from the Train. A definite highlight for a mountain trip.

Awesome train ride, nice history lesson as well. Very cool way to see the moutains. Engine 40 purred like a kitten and the whistle was amazing!

Very nice and beautiful train ride. We also went on a tour of the mine and panned for gold, and we were happy that we did. The gold is approximately $10 worth...which was fun to find. All of the employees that we encountered were very nice and enjoyable. We recommend this train ride...we sat in an open car and it was really enjoyable.

Everything about this place is wonderful. Staff is very nice and friendly. The place itself takes you to 1886. Public restrooms are decent. The loop takes about an hour in total with a 15 min stop and the trip is very entertaining.

The full loop might be an hour to hour and a half. They do make a couple stops.
Parking, and departure times. One starts at the bottom, and one at the top! Either location is great.
