Quality of life, the degree to which an individual is healthy, comfortable, and able to participate in or enjoy life events was given back to me by Dr. Shai’s team at Carolina Pain Center and Boston Scientific. I have recently under went the procedure in which the Spinal Cord Stimulator was the means used to give me back my ability to function more prudently in my everyday life . After 30 years of living with chronic pain syndrome, and careful consideration and prayer, this was the logical choice for me. Dr. Shai explained to me the procedure in detail and the equipment that was going to be used (which was by Boston Scientific). These individuals from Boston Scientific were very thoughtful and caring. They explained to me the purpose, usefulness and the restoration of my mobile ability that I longed for. Most importantly I would have the dosage of certain medication reduced. First I underwent the trial phase which lasted 5 to7 days. During period, I experienced the a significant can in my mobility. The team representatives called to check on me during and after the initial trial and after I undergo the permanent installation. They accompanied me to both the trial and my follow up appointments. My life has changed for the better! Thank you Dr Shahi and his team at Carolina Pain Center and thank you Boston Scientific. Each one of us has a journey in this life to travel, I would have never though I would need this type of procedure to continue my personal journey, but I did. I’m so grateful for this and I’m glad that it was and option for me and my family. Thank you again Dr. Shai , Carolina Pain Center and ( Kira, Jordan, Kevin, Ryan and Matt) of Boston Scientific. I visited and was treated at the Huntersville location. To me, first impressions matter and as soon as I walked through the door I noticed the very BEAUTIFULLY Decorated and CLEAN Office/Facilities! The staff is very friendly and helpful (a special shoutout to Martina at the front desk and Medical Assistants Shaq and Mayerlin!! 😊). During my visits for TPI's I was under the EXCELLENT care of Dr. Binit Shah. Dr. Shah is very personable and professional. During my initial consultation, he was both thorough and patient. He listened to my needs and concerns and assured my husband Camir and I that he would find the best solution and provide the best treatment possible to treat my Myofacial Pain Syndrome caused by an ACDF Surgery that I had in Movember of 2017. Rest assured during ALL of my visits, Dr. Shah literally got to the root of my pain by using a handheld sonogram device. This was the FIRST time that this method was ever used. At a past Pain Center (that shall remain nameless), it was NEVER offered or done and the experience was VERY EXCRUCIATING!! 😣 During my appointments at Carolina Pain Center Huntersville, while I was in the office being cared for, my husband was able to relax in the Massage Chairs that they provide as he waited for me. It really can't get much better than that and he's NOT even a patient there! lol During subsequent visits, I was cared for by PA, Natalie Honeycutt. Natalie was also patient and kind at all of my appointments! Care at this facility really can't get much better than it's been for me! The only downside is that I didn't find them much sooner than the 10 months that I've been a patient there due to my family recently moving to Georgia!! 😞 However, they did provide medication refills for the next year until I can find a new Pain Center/Doctors and also gave me a referral for another pain doctor located in Georgia. Well, it's been a month since my departure and I miss ALL of you already and I most DEFINITELY will RECOMMEND you to ANY and EVERYONE in the HUNTERSVILLE and CHARLOTTE NC Areas! The Doctors could NOT care less about you, I described my pain and all I got was “well this wouldn’t cause that” I was there to get pain relief not argue about what they “think” I am experiencing, informed them the medication I was already on and how it wasn’t working. I was told that they would “help me” but instead just prescribed me the exact same thing. I informed the Doctor I was seeking more permanent solutions and would like to not be on medication for a long period of time, but since they couldn’t get me in for injections for a month that I would please like something stronger to able to actually function until then. I informed them my pain level was a 10 out of 10 was given no importance. After three days of calling every hour, finally spoke with someone and the Doctor lied about what I said, stating I requested a lower dose of pain medication and when I asked how do I go about changing my prescription I was simply told “you can’t, they won’t give you anything else or anything higher”. I canceled all three of my future procedures with them. I would rather suffer than be treated that poorly and refuse to be treated by an arrogant liar. (Dr Todd Massey).
