We had so much fun on the river today with Gypsy! The owner found a hat we left in our raft and ran it back to us. Everybody we encountered was professional and friendly. The grounds are unique, and easy to get to.

We didn’t book with gypsy but their workers ended up helping us tremendously at their stop to get the kayaks out and give us a ride. Everyone is so helpful and nice.

This stretch of the Illinois River is gorgeous to kayak! Really clean water. Loved the very small rapids/riffles and wish I had done the run at the Kayak Park to start with, but as I wasn’t sure what I was getting into our guide dropped us just after the rapids. Recommend planning to stop a few times on the 4.5 mile paddle down the river, as it was so nice it went too fast. Almost came back to do it again the following day.

My spouse and I had an amazing time camping and kayaking with Gypsy Camp. It was a last minute trip thrown together, we never thought we would get to experience so much history and beauty at this little spot. We can't wait to go back with our kiddo! Jared was great, so friendly, and knowledgeable!
