As a former employee, I was extremely disappointed in the work experience I had at Greenbriar. The work environment was toxic and unprofessional (gossip, not speaking, poor boundaries, confidentiality breaches, etc.) The Executive Director was unsupportive and incompetent. Children in the shelter did not receive adequate services, actually little to no services, that they need to support the challenges they were experiencing. Staff coverage was always short, which regularly leaves the children unsupervised. I was surprised to see the inside operations of this organization. Honestly, I donβt see how they are still in operation.

No, we do not take in single mothers and children. We have an emergency shelter for children ages 11-18 only, who are abused, abandoned or neglected or who are runaways. If you are in need of an immediate place to stay, you may wish to contact Union Mission or Safe Shelter. If you are in need of other support services, please contact our social worker Catherine Gray at our Family Preservation Program at (912) 234-3431, who may be able to help you find the assistance you need.
I agree with Ladi Bugg....that's my understanding of the way it works.
