If you walk the old chester railroad from original ironia. About a mile in, there is a large intersection for patriots path.... at that intersection back in 1887 was the mining town of Horton. There are many pieces left of the establishment in the surrounding woods. But if you look directly across the river, while standing in Horton, , on top of that mountain, was the town of blackriver from the 1700's. Where the original farm house and school have been restored around the square by kessler. Nj has amazing history!!

Always a great " go to" for Breakfast or Brunch. Friendly staff ,constantly tasty food. I'm sure they are great for Lunch and Dinner ,just never have experiance yet!

This is a great trail trail for running. I would not do it doing hunting season sept though feb. The park is designated as a dog training facility. Hope thia helps.
You can ride non motorized bikes. But there are no motorized bikes on New Jersey deep property unless specifically specified. Also just a footnote beware of hunting season there are Hunters out there the main mistake you for game and you may be shot. LOL be safe
