All dogs are individual cages and cats are in a vestibule or some sort. Volunteers seem to be really busy and only one person is attending people and know what is going on. All others seem clueless. I had to wait for a while to speak to the lady running this facility. I felt like I was bothering by asking questions and was directed a lot to go to the website, which I already had. I prefer to talk to someone and get the information that I need or want from a person. I get they are busy, but how are pets going to be adopted if it seems like we are bothering you or taking up your time? The dog that I was interested in had already been adopted and they had changed his name so they didn't know what pet I was talking about when I was inquiring about him. First, they told me someone was fostering him and I has to apply online in order to see him, and then they told me he was adopted. Rules: You can't pet the dogs, you have to have an application for the pet your interested in, and then you can inquire about them, you can't foster animals unless you volunteer for about 6 months. Fees to adopt a dog is $250 with all vaccinations.

I have been volunteering with them for the past 2 months. I would say that they are always searching for volunteers to assist. You can contact them via their website http://www.humanesocietyhoco.org. The more volunteers, the better care the animals can receive (both physical and emotional)
The photos on the website show our avaliable dogs and cats.
Yes we do. . Check FB page.
Yes, they accept volunteers regularly. My daughter enjoys going there when she gets the opportunity to go.
They will take them if they have room. Don't just turn them loose please. It helps get them adopted if they are housebroken.
Yes you can
You need to call them
You need to call the humane society to see what you can do.
100 - 250
I travelled about 1 and a half hour to this place because they don't have small dogs around where we live. We are a family with 2 kids. I am not a native and fill out 3 applications for different dogs. My husband fill out an application for a puppy and got approved right away. We went to pick the puppy up and when the director saw us she said she wouldn't give us a puppy because that would be giving a baby to babies. Totally ignoring the fact that I am a responsible adult that will be with the puppy at all times. A real waste of my time and felt really horrible to be rejected that way, my kids crying, bought everything for the dog and then she denied us...
Ask them on the Facebook page. I am unsure.
ask this on the Facebook page so someone with more information can help out! i volunteer but im not sure if there's enough space since im not in town at the moment :)
Yes, but it's best that you call the shelter during their business hours.
Contact Animal Control.
I believe that you have to be 16 to volunteer without an adult staying with you. But we do have younger volunteers that come with their parents. Please come fill out a volunteer form either way. The babies love company and we always need help.
They don't have any birds and they have adoption fees for all of their pets.
You can always ask...
No. They can't take strays
