Certainly. Depending on which hike you take. The Idaho trail is pretty strenuous. I usually take the outlaw trail. It's about 3-4 miles coming back on the loop.

The "Nature Trail" loop is easy, and starts and ends where the bathrooms are. Taking the Palmetto Trail from the trailhead allows you to get to Fairforest Creek quickly. Of course, the trail continues but after playing in the creek (nice and wide), you can just turn around and head back.

You can't swim in the lakes, but you can wade in the water at your own risk in Fairforest Creek, which can be accessed about 1/4 mile from the park office on the Palmetto Trail.
