The members of the Assisted Living team have done a wonderful job accommodating our loved one. They also accommodate answering and checking into any worries us, as the family, have had about our family member. So thank you all!

Bad place to work and don’t get me started on the management they get mad when you call your coworkers in. But they will not come out of the office to help you with the residents. I was having trouble with ADP and the time clock is outdated and you don’t know if you’re on the clock or off so to know if you’re getting the correct hours paid isn’t what you want to have on your mind, forget payroll because Amber just gets an attitude because she’s new to the position and offers no assistance. The residents are not being chosen correctly because the company just needs customers in the building no matter if they’re skilled or not as long as they can pay Lake Wylie will take them! People get hurt and lay in paid for a while because the call lights get lost in with the nuisance of the doors constantly being alerted on pagers. Technology it’s updated so don’t worry about anything that might help that situation so please don’t spend your money here. They’re reasonable for a reason and it’s not because you’re getting a good deal. I was very favorable by residents but I wasn’t treated fairly by the lack of staff because of different reasons. You would work your shift but are required to stay if nobody else comes in for the next shift. Don’t get me started on the low pay rate. It’s many hours available but that’s not what you want to do always if you don’t need to. Good luck with this place!

Where do I begin? I never thought I’d be celebrating hospice services until today. Mom was moved to a hospice respite and possible inpatient hospice. This after three weeks of ER visits, calls to say she (89 years old with Alzheimer’s) is a “danger to self and others”calls to tell me she was not taking her meds, combative, not eating or drinking. Is memory care not trained to deal with these behaviors since they are most common with Alzheimer’s?? Apparently not their responsibility- they are “assisted living”. Tens of thousands of dollars later- I know this. AL response is to send the elderly to a geriatric psychological ward. I know this, not because anyone ever met with me in a care planning meeting or answered my multiple emails or gave me anything in writing to assist me with these difficult decisions as mom’s POA, but because today- mom was happy. Mom took her meds, ate everything she was offered, was pleasant and content. Mom was treated with respect and dignity, she was allowed to see her family unrestricted, we were allowed to be collaborative.. mom is dying, she is in hospice but she is happy. Please ask questions and get policies in writing prior to admitting your loved ones to Lake Wiley.

They have volunteers come in. I do not know whether they have a internal volunteer program. Call them, I am sure they could always use help in their daily activities programs. My father knows the exercise and bingo have been dropped on occasion.
