First time customer today. Awesome food and at a surprising price. First place I can recall in a while where I felt like I had a fair exchange of my hard earned money for great food and service. We'll be back!!! Pork Ribeye was incredible. Never heard of such a thing before.

We normally love Woody's, and often take guests there. However, both times I ordered steak recently, it was over cooked (I had asked for medium). I was told that the tinted windows made the steak appear, visually, well done. Ummm... I would suggest that they honor what the customer says. How much nicer it would have been if the manager/owner had said, "I'm so sorry. We'll do better next time." To not believe faithful customers is to condescend to them. I wasn't asking for a refund or for another steak, just that my thoughts be taken and considered. The service staff, especially Ray and Denise, are wonderful!

Vegetarian? Vegan? Not much here, which is sad because this is a beautiful place with modern decor and a great view of Grand Lake. Woody's is a bit of a drive from Alpena, but I enjoyed the Shredded Brussels Sprout Salad. It was hearty, something that you want when a salad is your meal. I asked for no Parmesan cheese to make it dairy free, and with a side of sweet potato fries it was a good meal. Service was excellent; it was friendly but professional. The waitress spoke to many customers by name, so clearly the place has a strong local following. It should be five stars, but except for a few sides there is nothing on the menu that's not dependent upon meat and/or dairy. The food is great quality (my fellow diner had a lovely piece of salmon), so there's obviously talent in the kitchen. A couple of vegan options would earn another star from me, although I think I might be making the drive out there for that salad again soon.

Awesome staff, very well cleaned and maintained restaurant. Absolutely crazy good food. One of the best places in all of Michigan to go to. Guaranteed to leave you saying "Wow!"
