No they ask if you want it and if you tell them no they don't really push it. At least they didn't to me but I was also very adamant that I didn't want it while I was pregnant.

Hi Robin, thanks for asking! Each adult ER patient is allowed to bring 1 support person with them, 2 support persons for a pediatric patient. Your support person must be 18 years or older and remain the same throughout your visit, i.e. your spouse can't switch out with your mother during your visit.
