In 2020, I took on a temporary job assignment as a full-time Accounts Payable Accountant/Staff Accountant, and I have to say that I absolutely love the staff in the Accounting department as well as all of the other staff that are always there to greet you early in the morning. I love that everyone is so kind and caring for one another and it is easy to work with others! The pastors here are very nice as well and are super easy to communicate with. This church is very beautiful and the architecture is so cute!

I am a Vincentian missionary priest. Recently, I was sent to the diocese to report on future possibility for ministry with the Hispanic Catholics. Bp. Robert Guglielmone affirmed the importance of supporting the Hispanic Catholics. Dr. Gustavo Váldez, Director Hispanic Ministry, organized the itinerary and interviews. We visited the parishes of St. Williams, Ward; St. John of the Cross, Batesburg, Leesville, and other parish in and around Aiken. I was impressed by the dedication and professionalism of Catholic Charities. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Mary, Help of Christians was exceptional for organization and social service. I leave with a very positive impression of the diocese and the quality of the evangelization and service provided to those in their care.

Not ashamed of being Catholic at all. I'm proud to follow the one and only true church. Everyone knows very well that the liberal media is so far out of touch with reality and IS indeed fake news most of the time. Like the other responses you received, the perception being fed to you is the false narrative. How soon you forget what happened during the last administration with illegal immigrants' children. The news is never completely true. Verify EVERYTHING you see and hear from the media before spewing hatred on anyone or any organization. Look at how the fake news spread lies about the innocent Covington Catholic students who had been in D.C. for the March for Life. Shame on everyone involved in their attempt to discredit those boys and bullying them. Finally the Bishop of Kentucky has exonerated the boys because he knew he jumped on that bandwagon way too quickly without an investigation to verfiy.
Hello good morning, Mass on Sundays at Santo Thomas Apostol at 1:00 pm on Dorchester rd.
The Catechism of the Catholic Catholic is pretty clear. Start your quest there. May God bless you! Deacon Gary Janelle
It is not a mortal sin not to join a parish. If you or someone you know is ill, they may attend virtual mass. However, it is a mortal sin to receive Holy Communion when having a mortal sin that is not purged by confession. All 92 Churches and 24 Missions, although I am only a member of one, I assure you that all of the parishes in this diocese, this state of South Carolina, are very warm and welcoming to locals and visitors alike. God bless you and those around you.
Maryellen Ludwig, Last year, priests were required to wear masks in some states. That question depends on which state you live in. I assume you live or planned to visit South Carolina. The Bishop of the Diocese rules in the best interest of the community and the policy of the state's governor. His Excellency, Bishop Guglielmone recommends or suggests that members of the congregation wear masks to protect themselves and each other from COVID-19. It depends on the individual parish and priests can wear a mask if they want to. I hope this answer helps you in the future.
Yes, the churches are now open and the dispensation that Joseph Pearce had told about was lifted on June 6, 2021, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. The obligation of attending Sunday mass and Holy Days of Obligation is back in place, except for those who are sick or homebound.
Yes they are asking to rephrain from using the precious blood and giving a sign of peace by kissing or shaking hands it can be found on the diocese website
Yes, it is inappropriate and in my opinion, it doesn't make sense. "Ave Maria" is really the "Hail Mary" prayer in Latin asking for the Blessed Virgin to intercede for us to God. Most chants cover this, such as "Salve Regina", "Ave Regina Caelorum" (Lent), "Alma Redemptorist Mater" (Advent/Christmas), and "Regina Caeli" (Easter/Pentecost) This is a holy prayer and an ancient prayer and it should be used for commercial use.
Good morning dear Buffie, if you live in the area of Charleston or near, you can go to the Catholic Church in Monks Corner and talk to father Maredi, he can help you.
I do not know Vigil Mass in Spanish. I know that Santo Tomas and the Blessed Sacrament have the Sunday Mass in Spanish, but they are all at the same time, at 1 in the afternoon. Immaculate Conception is a Mass Sunday 5:00 PM-Spanish. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 510 Saint James Ave. Goose Creek 29445
The Most Reverend Robert E. Guglielmone is the Bishop of the Diocese of Charleston.
Darrell Purchase, I think it takes a two-year process to get confirmed or a series of CCD classes, depending if the student attend Catholic or public school. For the Rite of Initiation for Adults, please check with the Catholic Church in your hometown's RCIA program for details for classes for adults. These adults will be baptized, confirmed, and become in full communion with the Church on the Easter Vigil, (the night before Easter Sunday). I hope you find your answer. God bless you.
Yes, January 1 is a Holy Day of Obligation every year, except if it is a Saturday. January 1 celebrates the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God.
In the Diocese of Charleston there are 5 Holy Days of Obligation. January 1: Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God Ascension Sunday: 40 Days after Easter. (In this Diocese it is the Sunday before Pentecost) August 15: Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary November 1: Solemnity of All Saints' December 8: Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception December 25: Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord (Christmas)
That would be Father Renaurd West - a very fine priest!
