I took a stray dog to animal control first thing yesterday morning. We live on a busy street and he could get hit. Three employees in the parking lot said they were closed. Ok, what time do you open? We’re CLOSED (no business...?) Hmm, so what about the stray? One woman explained they were remodeling, but started to help, scanning for a chip then went inside after I told her I had to get back home (I have two toddlers and a lot to do). She went inside for a second, came out with again with other employees. A guy proceeded to tell me without my Id and paperwork they couldn’t take him, ok understandable, but at the same time a Hispanic female is taking a picture of my license plate??? I got really anxious at that point and the male continues to talk about their procedures unpleasantly and because of the discomfort I felt, I told them I just wanted to leave him there and continue about my day. I was threatened with arrest for abandonment (of a stray) and was reminded they ‘had my license plate’. Horrified I left with the dog before the situation escalated. There should be employees there who are actually concerned about the animals and who also don’t immediately jump to conclusions. I was not there to dump off my own pet, I am just a citizen trying to help! On the way home I looked for anyone to Id the dog and when I got there I took out my phone. By the grace of God four hours later after sharing his photo and the KINDNESS of neighbors, his owner picked him up. RCAC this is what you should be doing, are paid for. Unfortunately I don’t feel comfortable helping a stray in the future or going there again after this situation.

Why would you block someone who has adequate information on shady rescues ! You should be ashamed of yourself for allowing shady rescues to pull from Rockdale County !

Check to see if the shelter you give the pup to destroys the animal if it is never adopted. If this doesn't matter to you then call ahead to see if they have openings to take animals
You go inside and ask about adoptions. Or go online and get the number to call them
You will have to contact an animal rescue, as the county does not accept surrendered pets. Just google local animal rescues, and give them a call.
They will charge u a fee. Y not post on FB and give 2 some 1
I mean, I guess there? I would call ahead of time, though, just to make sure. I think they'll just euthanize it, so if you have any problems with that you may just want to take it a few miles away from your house and release it into the wild.
(RCACC) Rockdale County Animal Care and Control is not a rescue organization? Rescue groups near Conyers could explain thier own interactions and capabilities with pet parents. I hope you find a reasonable conclusion.
I have a German Shepherd male who is 4 years old. You can have him and I can give you more information about why I need to give him away. But he’s wonderful around kids and other animals

I don't think they have rat traps, your best is to go to Ace hardware or something and get industrial strenth Poison and hide it under cabnets and places where children and pets cant get.
Code enforcement handles numbers and if a residence can have livestock. When they go out if conditions are bad, they will call animal control.
