Franklin Forest Horse and ATV Trails

The first time we were there we did the outer trail with our KRX and a brute force 300. This trail was too much for the brute because it doesn't have 4 wheel drive. 2nd time we left the quad at home and rode the trails at the power lines! This was a great low stress ride for us, this trail we could have brought the brute! We had fun both times! I do wish they had better trail maps, though not a concern if you have GPS.

Franklin Forest offers a wide array of trails in this area. Technically, horses and ATVs can ride on the same trails, but there's a fairly natural separation that occurs. Horses go on one side of the road and ATVs go on the other. I've never had a problem with it. There is plenty of parking and it's easy to get your trailer in and out. On the South side, the overlooks aren't the best, but the trails are in good condition. (Also, you can view the trails on Google maps here.
