I got this apartment when I was still living in AZ, without looking at it. I signed a 6 month lease because I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. I was so happy about my move to South Carolina, I wasn’t very upset that the apartment wasn’t in great condition. I’ve asking for repairs over the last few months because certain things became intolerable. Now that my lease is up for renewal, the cost is going up $100. If I sign a 12 month the one bedroom is just under $1000 a month (plus around $100 in fees), which is reasonable and around $100 cheaper than I’m currently paying. If I want to stay another 6 months it’s $1200 a month (plus the nearly $100 fee). So if I decide to live here for another 6 months (a total on one year) and I’m paying $200 more a month than the longer lease option, I’m paying $2,400 more for the year on that apartment than if I originally signed a 12 month lease. If I decide to stay here another 6 months, those 6 months will cost me $1,200 more than necessary. I feel like I have no choice but to sign a 12 month if I want to stay here or if I want affordable housing. I asked for them to please not bring the price up on the 6 month but negotiation was not successful. I would rate the place higher if I didn’t feel like I’ve been put in a financially draining situation. Many people don’t know what will happen in a year and it isn’t right to make it the only reasonable option. TLDR; the apartments are only worth it if you sign a 12 month lease. Jewel and Larry have always been polite and helpful when I need anything. I wish Tara was able to help me with the apartment pricing but I’m sure she tried her best.

I use to stay there..while I was there my spouse and kids went to the pool one day on the weekend without me and while I'm Caucasian and they're not ...they were treated horrible by the other residents....the only people of color and even had the police called out because they were thought to be "trespassing " ...I didn't know ignorant people like that still existed ...it was horrible to explain to my kids that people have bad intentions on how some one looks...best thing we did was move

I co-signed a lease for my daughter to live at Park Place for six months. She had a fairly normal rental experience--not great but okay. It was on check out that a problem developed. After check out Park Place presented her with a bill for $93.10, for extreme or excess cleaning (the characterization differed), for utiities and for an extra day's rent. She replied in an e-mail, pointing out that she had moved out a day early, and that the supposed necessity for extra cleaning had not been identified at the time of the check out. ( The lease provided for a $125 normal cleaning fee.) Based on the one-day early move out and the unjustified excess cleaning charges, she noted that she was, in fact, owed some money, but offered to compromise the claim and let Park Place keep her security deposit. She never received any responsive comunication from Park Place, but three and a half months later, I was informed that Park Place had placed an adverse report on my credit history. I am, of course, contesting this adverse report, but it is indicative of the unscrupulous and dishonest nature of the Park Place management that they would resort to credit history blackmail, rather than seek to negotiate a good faith resolution of competing claims. The only reason that I'm giving this place two stars is that the decent rental selection is fairly limited if you should be so unfortunate as to have to rent in Spartanburg. If you can afford the commute, I'd suggest looking in Greenville.
