Great for dogs! Trail starts uphill levels out then goes uphill again. Decent amount of shade. Wonderful view of northeast Lake Tahoe.

Short hike, kind of steep, but incredible views! The rock actually does look like a monkey, which is super cool.

Great hike! Hike is shaped almost like a D, if you can imagine that, you can opt for straight up the hill for more of a challenge or around the bend for more low impact (ish) Whichever way you get there the view is worth every step! Monkey Rock is the bonus. Enjoy!

Loved this trail. Most of the trail is not paved but flat. Only last steps you need to climb on the rocks. We brought two toddlers but just fine. You need to park at paid parking and it’s $6/hour. If you are good at hiking probably one hour is fine but we took less than 3hours to let kids walk a little, enjoy the view, take pictures and get some rest on the top. It costs a little but still really worth it;) would like to come back here sunset hour next time!

Depends on the weather. If there is heavy snow, the last part of the hike is very steep and may be too difficult for novice hikers.
Fees are on the honor system.
I'm from Montana so it was a pretty easy hike for me. The friend that went with me was from Houston, so she wasn't used to it being so steep. I think the entire hike took us 45 minutes up and back.
