Very nice place to visit! The weather was hot but the ocean breeze definitely makes it nicer to hang out on the beach.

Fort Flagler is magical. The campsites are big & roomy. You can choose: nestled in the trees or on the lawn near the beach. The hiking trails are plenty: whether hiking the beach or super wooded trails. A concession stand for kayaks, wood & snacks. What more do you want?

Fort Flagler is a beautiful state park. We had fun staying at lower campground site 55. The site had full hookups, decent cell signal and moderate privacy. We enjoyed visits to Beach Comber cafe getting coffee and ice cream. Great place to walk, bike ride, explore the forts and beach.

My brother and his family get a spot for their pop-up camper every summer and we always join them. Gorgeous beaches, nice little food/amenities stand (limited for Covid-19 right now), good shower facilities, and, if you're a history buff, hiking/driving through the various WWII bunkers, housing, etc is pretty cool. Also great for day use, boat launching.
