The road from I-90 has twists and turns, and then once you turn onto the road for beauty creek, that road is paved but Hs some significant pot holes. The campground is a one-way road through it. It's not very big, but the sites are all decent-sized and have decent privacy. ..except site 10 which is supposed to be a tent site, but we were allowed to use it for our 24ft class c. That site is right along the road with no privacy. The campground hosts are gracious and very accommodating. The creek itself is bone dry due to a very dry summer. It's not far from the lake and supposely there is a nice trail that leaves from the end of campground. There are no hookups of any kind. Pit toilets, and the only water pump we found was a hand pump with a weird output that made it hard to collect water. On the bright side, Idaho lifted their burn ban so we could have a fire.

The creek was dry, the firepits closed and it was still beautiful. No electric, water, or sewer as expected. The camp site is huge, could easily fit 2 35 foot (total length) rigs side by side. My 25 foot 5th wheel fit, connected with perhaps 8 foot to spare. Trees and brush surround the site (excepting the roadway). The nearest other sites at least 75 yards away, you can't see anyone else. The road to the park is paved, but has multiple large pot holes. The road in the campground is paved and in excellent shape. The pad is paved. There is a basic latrine across the road from my site. Paved walkway to it and it is ADA with concrete floor. Excellent park.

We felt so lucky to find this campground on our cross-country trip from Alabama. The host was incredible. It was a safe location for our four kids, and there were several trails nearby to explore. You can easily hook into a trail for a run or hike directly from the campsite. On my run, I saw a golden eagle fly just above my head and off the mountain. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. And for a shorter exploratory jaunt, we enjoyed walking the dried creek bed with the kids. We also hiked the nearby Mineral Ridge for a nice overlook. A beautiful, serene location and very affordable.

Gorgeous location and the spots are huge. There are a mix of walk ups and reservable sites. All basic campgrounds - no power and water is communial & pit toilets. Campground host Rick was welcoming and so friendly.

There is camping. About 20 spots I think. I believe it was $23 a night. Rick is the host. He there early it fills up later.
They have reservable sites as well as first-come first-serve sites. We were there a couple of weekends ago and they only had 1 fcfs site available. Go to recreation.gov to make the reservations. But i think their season ends soon.
Not sure but I'd just ask! Host is pretty great and easy going so if she says no there is a real reason.
29 miles away.
Not free. There are the standard forest service campsite fees. There probably is dispersed camping off some of the FS roads but check the Vehicle Use Maps for that area.
Thanks, Lauren. We can't get there earlier because we are driving all day. Guess the walk-in options would not work for us then. Thanks.
$23 If you have a Golden Pass it is $11.50
