Attended TLETA in 1994 and have very fond memories of the Academy, I am so glad I got the opportunity receive my trading there, a time I will never forget. I would love to go back and visit some day. I retired from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office in 2019 after 28 years of service. Thanks to TLETA for the great training that helped me through my career !

You must first be hired by an agency and they will pay and send you to the academy. You also have the option to attend the training offered at Walter State Community College or Cleveland State Community College, which you would have to pay for yourself. The latter two may offer financial aid assistance, but I would check with the admissions/financial aid offices to verify that.
You don't need a college degree. You do need to have a high school diploma or ged. You can pay to get yourself through an Academy or get sponsored by a department.
